Actually, he earned his success due to his perseverance, diligence and hard work. He started in elementary school doing reports, soon after he started doing gigs. His first few decades were full of rejection and he had to show to everybody ventriloquism is not an old and forgotten vaudevillian act. You can read everything about this in his autobiography.

@Wayne Green not my family. my family my dad likes to hear himself talk & hold a conversation with himself, that's how he is with everybody. you can't get a word in. ever. and I mean EVER😅 like even when you think he's finally done and you wanna comment something off what he said, if he's not.... oh boy it's drama😅 that's putting it nicely (very offended) but he'll walk in and cut everyone else off, he expects from others what he isn't willing to give to them- just to share my own personal experience that contradicts your rude comments and jaded perception. your bias is showing taking what everyone was laughing about into something else entirely. it comes down to individual basis. and I really respect jeff for how he handles the situation keeping it light, that's how a mature adult should do it, no matter which way it goes.

I was with Jeff in Europe. We were just kids and Jeff knew he wanted to be a ventriloquist even back then and he was good. We were riding on the tube in Paris. We had these white windbreaker jackets and Rodger, our choir director, had his rolled up, tucked in his arms, looking to all the world like a tiny baby in a blanket. Rodger was standing and Jeff started to make subtle baby noises throwing his voice to make the white blanket sound like a mildly fussy baby. Rodger would bounce the bundle and the baby noises would bounce too. On the other side of the car were several seated middle aged French women. They had become quite interested in the little white bundle in Rodger's arms. They moved forward in their seat and craned their necks to try and get a better look. At this point Rodger looks at Jeff and says "now?" To which Jeff replied "NOW." Rodger took the rolled up windbreaker and shook it out and three pare of arms shot out to catch the poor baby but there was no baby! They look surprised and then began to laugh. They had been had and they knew it. Jeff is a good guy, one of the best.

His voice sounds really tired. I would just like to show appreciation towards his line of work. Because he doesn’t just come up with his own material and puppets, he uses special techniques to speak and a vast range of voices so incredibly often. If anything I’m the most impressed by how LONG he’s been doing this rather than how huge he’s become.
