I agree.. me and my friends used to talk about him like he was an all time great just because of the way threw. There are a few others that I would mention after him like John Elway, Dan Marino ,Warren Moon. I also think that a young Matt Stafford had it too. But I would say George had the best pure throwing ability.

Had the talent of a franchise QB but wound up a journeyman because of his attitude.

Fuck Super Bowls.. it’s about being a journeyman and going rogue. Jeff had the most talented arm I have ever seen. He barely moved and the ball shot out of a cannon.

You do know Jeff doesn't care right? Seriously jeff George didn't care he played the game how he wanted to and wasn't going to bow before head coaches or front offices bad attitude ? So what when you have a cannon like that he should of been a steeler or on that ravens team in 2000 and won a superbowl just to piss people off even more lmao yes a journeyman but he's that 1 dude say you building an expansion team and you want to actually compete ? You get jeff george let him air that shit out

I loved Denny but I will say he made a mistake not making a commitment to JG when he saw that arm. I understand wanting to develop a franchise QB in Culpepper but man, we had an all pro right in our locker room At least, AT LEAST he should have had Daunte sit on the bench for a couple of years and let Jeff lead that team.

Jeff George should have played for Mike Martz. Both stubborn. Both like passing deep. Neither can move (one physically and the other metaphorically). But both can delivery when allowed the right circumstance.

As a former Redskins fan, it was downhill quick for Jeff George. He did have a hell of a run between the Raiders in 97 and the Vikings in 99. 2000 and 2001 were pretty brutal to watch him play. But who knows, with those receivers maybe he would have been good for another couple of years.

Jeff George had some of the most beautiful passing mechanics ever. He nearly had a “straight arm” where he could accelerate quickly through his motion and it allowed him to have a quick release and a strong arm. But if you just watch him in practice you can actually really see his arm motion better as he slows it down a bit. But he could drop back, and while he was planting his back foot he could start his throwing motion so that when he made a weight transfer the ball could be out already. Too bad there’s no high-speed photography of his motion because you then could slow it way down in high resolution and see what he was doing.

Jeff George only had one year his whole career where he wasn’t in a terrible situation. First the Colts, then the June Jones Falcons, then the Raiders, one year with the Vikings where he had a great season but they had Daunte Culpepper waiting in the wings… and then the Redskins. Someone could have made a lot more out of George, but it never worked out.

Will you be making a 1990-91 Houston Oilers Warren Moon, 1997-98 Oakland Raiders Jeff George, 2011-12 New Orleans Saints Drew Brees, & 2011-12 Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford next in the very near future at your earliest convenience of course?

Dude had a cannon, unlike any other QB I've ever seen! Slingshotting 40-50yds off his back foot like it was nothing. Too bad he was reprehensible dickhead and didn't have champion mentality. If he did, combined with that natural talent, would have rings for sure

I've been a VIKING X52 seasons in '22. I always liked Jeff George, however, his piss-poor attitude cost him his NFL career. He had the most beautiful "FASTBALL' in all of Football. Captain Kirk also has a Fast Ball (+) a beautiful Deep Ball. Vikes win 13 games Ppl. If U bet, always include the Vikes in the "$-Line" bet. U'll thank me later. With our '22 Offense, my VIKES will score more than 23 points all season long. Mark my words Ppl.

Denny Green cost us big time by waiting 2 weeks too long. If he'd have put Jeff George in two weeks earlier, and not played for the FG vs Detroit, Minnesota would have visited the Rams in the NFC Championship game. And it would have gone way different one week later. The Rams were ready to choke that postseason. They simply needed to be put in that position. They beat the Vikings badly in the second half of the divisional round, after losing the 1st half. But one week later, they'd have gotten smoked.
