Habs were involved in 12 one goal games that they lost in regulation, another 15 games lost in OT or SO. If they won half of those games, it would have gave them another 19.5pts more in the standings (call it 19). 19 more points would have meant they finished the season with 95pts, and would have the last wildcard spot. This team is close.

They've got their place on the 3rd line next year. Depends if Andy decides to go seek some help this summer but you certainly wouldn't want Gally on the 4th line because of his pace so it might be his last 1-2 years..

There seemed to be a hint that the coaching staff may be static. Hopefully, that's not the case. If it's not a systems issue, then it's a player issue. Either way, there's a headwind to overcome.

I was hoping we could have finished above .500 for the season but 16 overtime losses hurt us especially games when we had the lead in the third period. We need to learn to close out close games. We are deep in young defensemen. Could use some for trade bait but hope for better results after trading McDounogh and Sergachev.

Growth takes some time in hockey. There were many improvements this year on the ice, maybe not on the stat sheet...yet Our pool is young, cheap and talented. We're moving pawns. Losing Price, hurt. We was that good for Montreal. He should have his number retired. He stays on LTIR which fees up tons of money. We're good boys. The future is bright

Great folks in management, but they don't have the forward players to develop yet. ...they seem to have a number #1,3,4th lines. Kirby Dach's health and development is key and still a big '?' That's a lot of '?' for one young dude. They need to add one elite forward to grow with the group...under 25.

They have the assets (picks, young defensemen) to do a major trade to acquire good forwards. As long as this forward is not Zegras… They also have room to sign one UFA or two. Patience is the way to go, sooner or later the right opportunity will show up.
