ive been in skating 25 years and the thing nobody talks about is how he was keeping the actual cultural flame lit for skating. there is no magazine or brand or company that archives and makes available the stories, legends, key moments, true inventors of tricks, importance of board graphics, philosophies, ECT for people to consume and learn from. the new generations were learning from Love Letters and now that grosso is gone there isnt anyone teaching anyone much of anything. skating is mostly about fashion and materialism now and Jeff was the only one calling people out for being that way

after 20 years i can still feel the vibration of the board coming through my feet. I found loveletters about two years ago and fell in love with skating all over again. Life took me away from skating but on the one year anniversary of his passing I purchased a skateboard. it felt like home after a long vacation. thanks Grosso

Can't believe it's already been a year. He truly was a gift to skating with his love letters. He reminded us why skateboarding is great and was all about it being inclusive for everyone. Wish the best for his kid

Met Grosso years ago when he stopped by Lucero's house. Just the nicest upbeat dude. Even bitching about stuff, it was with a smile. Just a great personality. I can't claim to have "known" him, but my few little interactions left my hoping that we'd hang out again. Such a bummer, but such an impact. His Love Letters saved so much history that was in danger of fading away.

I had a dream about Grosso the other night. Jeff, his son Oliver, and me were shredding this bowl and both of them were killing it. I was getting psyched off of him and he was getting psyched off of me. It was a very feel good dream. I've never met Jeff but that somehow made me feel closer to him. RIP GROSSO ✊

When people pass away too early it's always tragic, but I'm glad I got to experience Grosso while he was here. He was one of those people the universe put here to exude 1000 % of his energy on something he truly loved. Undoubtedly he made his mark on the world and I'm at least thankful we have some of that captured on video to relive.

Don’t believe a word Hosoi says, he seriously makes me sick listening to his lies. Junkies will say anything to convince themselves and anyone else of their importance. Let’s be real here people, Grosso and Hosoi were prime examples of why not to be a professional skateboarder, just sad really that two such great talents were taken down by addiction, but honesty I think Hosoi is the iconic image of failure as a human, some of you know what I’m talking about, most will ignore the seedy truth about these “heroes”. I could tell you horrible stories about Hosoi, but everyone would just be butt hurt , the truth is often painful.
@heroicsquirrel31953 жыл бұрын
Hosoi seems honest and has turned his life round, what is the truth?

I like Grosso, but, there were some things he said he did in his Nine Club interview that make me question why people hold him in such high regard. Like rolling a passed out friend up in a carpet and throwing him out a second story window and wrecking a woman's apartment. He was laughing about it. OK, so, he was on drugs at the time. He didn't seem to regret what he did. So, as far as that goes, he seemed like a sh...y person.
