@Andy Bales I've never tried to do it but the people I've spoke with agree it's a major advantage "if" you can lose them and "if" you can make them bite but the reality is all professional fisherman have it so they still compete on a level playing field. It's another tool.

I do wish FFS would be banned. But, regardless this was a well deserved win. They all had FFS, yet Gussy was the only one who could figure out the deep smallmouth bite. The Johnston brothers couldn’t, Taku Ito couldn’t, Palaniuk couldn’t, etc. Congrats Gussy.

Watched the Super Six weigh-in on live stream and nodded off; woke up just in time to see the final result. Even the coronation was boring! Maybe the arena was too small to generate a large crowd reaction; it was certainly too short, if you saw the victory ride. They managed to put a Canadian flag in the boat, but I didn't see it being waved. I missed the part where the champion's wife got her flowers; turns out she walked off stage to get them. I would have kept walking.

Great to see a good guys win the Classic but it was painful to watch. That fishery has been hammered and next years Classic will most likely be the same grind. If a fishery can’t produce limits to the Super 6 should be scratched off the list. Time to bring it back west to Clear Lake and put 75lbs for 3 days of fishing.

Tbh I was always wondering why they don’t do slug fest lakes for the classic? However I then realized it was all due to attendance. The town pays for them to come and use their arenas. Look at the Sabine river that place doesn’t fish too great however the crowds are insane! It’s all different aspects of the sport.
