As a young Canadian lad in the mid '80s, me and my buds went out to a local pick-up bar. We were kind of upset because there was a lineup, as they were apparently featuring a live artist we had never heard of that night, whereas normally they just had a deejay. But the posters cited kudos by the likes of B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, so we waited in line. When we got in we sat ten feet from the two-foot stage behind the tiny dance floor, and then the band came out, leading a blind guy. My buddies and I looked at each other quizzically, then started to watch and listen. All jaws dropped. Nobody danced that night. I will never forget it.

Very cool to hear thanks man👍❤️ He's been my fave guitarist since I first heard him around '88-'89 I reckon. See the Light still is a great album & the title track has always been my go to for 🎸 squeal 🎸😁 Then the movie Road House hit & I was like "f@ck yeah Jeff"👍😎 "You play pretty good for a blind white boy." ..Yeah & I thought you'd be bigger. Then came Hell To Pay 👍👍 Thanks Jeff🍻 🇦🇺 ✌️

I you ever watch the Patrick Swayze movie “Roadhouse”, The Jeff Healey Band” is the house band at the bar. Jeff’s biggest hit was a ballad called “Angel Eyes”. It hit #5 on the U.S. Hot 100. Jeff was a good Canadian boy. Amazing talent.

I know this video is four years ago, but ifyou're still interested, I'd recommend Jeff's show from London in 1989, it's all over KZbin. From start to finish one of the best shows IMO, and it delivers on every song. It's so cool seeing people react to him that have never heard of him, I saw him many times and it's kinda unbelievable live.

Jeff Healey was born here in Toronto in 1966. There is a park in the city named after him and, until a few years ago, he had a roadhouse style restaurant in downtown Toronto. He also has a well-deserved star on the Canadian Walk of Fame, also in Toronto. I was lucky enough to see him perform live in the early ‘90’s when he was touring with another magnificent Canadian artist, Colin James. It was a great concert and because I was friends with the concert promoter I was invited to the after party and found Jeff to be quite fun, friendly and gracious. It was a night I will never forget. That man had talent and a brilliant mind. Check him out in the movie, “Roadhouse” starring Patrick Swayze, where he plays, well, a blind bar musician.

I took my son to see Jeff Healey at his club in Toronto .{ HEALY"S } Needless to say he was impressed. The following week my son went to the largest music store in Toronto to purchase a Jeff Healley CD . He could not find anything on Jeff Healy in the store . The sales person said that they weren't stocking anything . He spoke to the store manager and told . him The following . How is that you are a Canadian music store and you are not carrying anything of our Canadian artist who has had hit songs. My son was not a happy camper.

Your reaction it's pretty common when people are first turned on to this guy, he became one of the best blues players of all! It's a small group of guys but he was definitely one of them, and someone down below here said how sad it is that the greats are taken away from us way too soon♡ Johnny Winter will blow your mind if you want a great blues player, his mentor was BB King!

Jeff reached the Jimi Hendrix Stratosphere. A rare few others got close to that Realm, like SRV, etc, but the thing is Jimi was more than just a guitar vertuoso, he was a genius song creator/lyricist/composer and on top of all that, an Explosive performer. You could say he went out on a limb, doing a Cosmic dance, to find out how far he could go until the limb broke. No one else has done that since he left this material plane. Jeff reached a big part of that Stratosphere that Jimi created in, and breathed in constantly. Now you can judge for yourselves. I loved Jeff alot!!!.

I heard Jeff Healey in 88 (see the light album), I watched Roadhouse 1989, seen Jeff play behind the cage and was hooked. Got "Hell to Pay" late 1990 then the rest of the albums that followed. Then there was no You Tube. Its been great over the years watching him play on videos, just WOW. What a player and one of the guitar heroes who did not stay long enough on this earth to truly get the recognition he deserved. Two guitarists I wish I had seen live Jeff is one and then Gary Moore. Two of the all time best.

I know it's been 2 years, but you probably have not heard of his Hammersmith Odeon London performance. I'm a Hendrix fan since 1969, so I can tell you that the Hammersmith performance is the only concert with maximum fire under it. He did it on purpose cause he wanted to be part of the legacy that venue holds. All the top greats played there of the 60's and 70's. Mind blowing stuff. There are many other great performances out there. He did some amazing All Along The Watchtower, Hendrix cover.

Healy wasn't just a blues player. He was also a student of early jazz, with a record collection in the thousands which he played while hosting his own radio show.
