Jeff is simply gifted, don't forget he lost his eyes at 1yr old, he did learn traditional style but preferred to play the guitar on his lap. Take the disability out of the equation, Jeff is still on another level. The man stands up and plays that guitar without a guitar strap, and sits down when he needs to, he has a unique stage sense and knows where he is at all times. Jeff is inspiring, you can do anything that you dedicate yourself too. Jeff and Stevie Ray were great friends and loved playing together, there is also a great video of Jeff playing with Jerry Lee Lewis and Ronnie Hawkins and members of the Band; Massey Hall Toronto 1995. I love the blues and Jeff Healey blows me away. RIP Jeff Healey

Jeff was given a guitar at a very young age and he couldn't reach the strings so he put it on his lap. He was also in the movie Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. Unfortunately he passed from cancer when he was in his early 40's.

Night music was a great show. Didn't last very long (can't have quality music on t.v., oh no...never that). David Sanborn hosted. One of the best things I ever saw and heard was the house band doing a funky jam on toy instruments singing "I just can't get enough of that funky stuff". If I remember right, Branford Marsalis played a plastic sax, or was it Wynton on a plastic trumpet? No matter, you get the picture. Jeff wasn't a half bad trumpeter either. No Wynton Marsalis, but he could play that old timey jazz respectably.
