Although I'm 4 years late to the party, I've recently been binge watching your interviews. I've come to really appreciate your interviewing skills. Even when there's multiple people in the studio, including comedians, who can tend to digress and go down rabbit holes with a joke or a personal perspective, you have a way of keeping the focus on and swinging the focus back to the guest. Your knowledge and personal history in the field leads to questions that invoke actual conversation with the guests not just cookie cutter questions and answers. You've shown that there are levels to this game as in all things. Double J is one of my all time faves. Whenever I speak about him to friends I have to say the whole spelling (J-E-Double F, J-A-Double R-E-Double T, Double J, Jeff Jarrett) every time I say his name, because although they dont say it, I like to think it annoys them.😉🙌🏽

And he's a genuinely good ass mofo. Met him a couple of times after shows in the UK. Talked about ring psychology with him briefly, which made me nervous as I was only 16 at the time, and I thought he would kayfabe me and be a bit rude. But no. He was happy to not insult me and have a albeit brief conversation. Then met him again a few months later after a 1pw show and he remembered our conversation. God bless you Jeff

Now I think Jeff two favorite sayings now is "without question" or needless to say... I love it lol. That faction would've been great as well. Southern justice, colonel parker, double JJ against the nation of domination or DX would've been good lol
@conniecarroll72226 жыл бұрын
I'm also from Memphis. My aunt lived right behind Channel 5's building, so er got to watch the wrestlers drive up to the back before the shows on Saturday and leave. This was back in the 60s. We thought it fun to watch them go in as friends, then beat each other up,then leave with each other. It was a kid's dream. Had moved by the Jarrett showed up, but recall seeing Jerry Lawler there.

I read someone say that they wanted to know what made Jeff Jarrett deserve to be in the Hall-of-Fame, and to some Fans just him being a Seven Time Intercontinental Champion is enough. He also was a two or three time U. S. Heavyweight Champion in WCW, WCW World Heavyweight Champion, WWF World Tag-Team Champion with Owen Hart, plus his Regional experience in U. S. W. A. As a Wrestling Fan, all that plus being believable as Double J The Country Music Superstar, in my Book is what gave him credibility to being in the WWE Hall-of-Fame

@slayerde4406 жыл бұрын
Man, stfu
@DIESEL07596 жыл бұрын
+kenterminatedbygoogle It's all about who WWE thinks will move tickets. In their mind, Vader and Martel aren't big names from "Attitude", and that's what they want. Plus, you need to be alive, because they don't want a whole lot of guys who are dead, it will call attention to deaths in wrestling.
@fuzzydunlop79286 жыл бұрын
Hasn't Vader been inducted already? Was that a fever dream I had? And yes - the HOF is primarily just another excuse to fill houses. It may not be a sole money enterprise, but it's not like there's a panel that pours over all the criteria and comes up with the most deserving entrants. It's likely down to one person making the decisions based on his temporary feelings and business acumen and there's likely a gigantic back-list of potential entrants.
@DIESEL07596 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzydunlop7928 +Fuzzy Dunlop To the best of my recollection, Vader is not in any Hall of Fame. If there was an actual list of "deserving" people, there would be a lot of guys who would be in, and a lot more not in, but again, everything WWE does has the same mentality of a politician: "What other ways can I separate someone from their money?"
@markherrera5586 жыл бұрын
The "Warrior held up the WWF" narrative has been thoroughly debunked. There is literal proof that this did not occur. Also, Jarrett was owed money and he wanted to get it before doing the job and going to WCW, I don't blame him one bit.
@soulessshadow53565 жыл бұрын
As a business man, Jarrett has always been ruthless. Look at what he did with TNA to try and compete with WWE. I think people take Jarrett's business side and confuse it with the man he actually is. I've met Jarrett a few times, he was always nice and corgial and willing to have a chat with legitamite wrestling fans who love the business, however, that being said he even said himself he doesn't take kindly to "marks" who come up to him talkin' about the things they see on dirt sheets. He's no nonsense and maybe that's where the "asshole" look on him comes from, but Jarrett is a great dude, he just had to be ruthless to make companies like GWN and TNA feel like legitimate competition to WWE, and arguably in the early 2000's, once WWE switched from the "Ruthless aggression" era to the "PG Era", TNA was on top for a while because they had the better product while WWE was in that transition period where it felt hard to watch some of their stuff because it just wasn't entertaining

I’m sorry but Warrior, Macho Man, Double J et al never had half the heat with WWE/McMahon that Sable put on herself and still possesses. She went from being a so so talent that got a super push to the moon that you usually only saw with talent like Hulk, Flair, Warrior etc. to even her name being nuclear with Vince. Her husband is still coming back every couple of years and you never hear her name mentioned even in passing. When he allows her into the HoF then you will know he will forgive anybody. I’m sure her return with Brock beside her would draw some interest but Vince will surely be cold before he allows it.

Good interview, except for two things: Roberts' ridiculous mark-out questions/comments starting roughly halfway through the interview, and Jarrett's stubborn insistence on remaining as vague as possible about his sudden departure from WWE after IYH2 in 1995. Jarrett still has not provided any kind of logical explanation as to why he walked out of the company just minutes after the biggest match/push of his career. Probably because there is no explanation, thus his dreams of ever being a WWE main eventer died that night.
