I like that "chirp" in the picked notes too which is why I have used the dimarzio PAF Pro's for Years. Paul Gilbert got me into them and early Vai on his first JEM guitars.

The PAF Pro might be the best lead guitarists' pickup ever made.

@@AJDOLDCHANNELARCHIVE @AJDOLDCHANNELARCHIVE Yeah when the Pro first came out in 85 so many guys were using them but after a few years most abandoned them for something else. I did try several other models over the years(Breed, EVO, Tone zone, JB, Duncan custom, 59, Screamin demon, Norton, Fred, Double whammy and many others but keep coming back to the PAF pro.🤘

The pickups sound fantastic! but he seems not to be playing through tube amps anymore (maybe Quad Cortex through that SD poweramp)? It sound really tight and nice. But still i really miss his old ENGL tone. I remember seeing a video called "Jeff Loomis crushing an ENGL fireball part 2". It was a shitty sound camera, but you could feel the sonic OBLITEARATION that was going on. It was super BRUTE: really dense and big, still tight. (i still come from time to time to listen to it) I think that for a matter of convenience we are all going digital, but i miss the ol' days where we had a real tube amp pushing air really hard from behind :(

Feels good to hear you play it newly...One of, at least to me, the greatest metal albums ever created. I feel similarly, but in a different way and heavily including the lyrics and vocals of Warrel Dane(R.I.P.) of Nevermore...cant remember the albums name, or a couple of them, but the musical chemistry you and Warrel created was unlike anything ive ever experienced. immediately fell in love and listened almost obsessively..same as CD.....Of course no one could replace a voice like Warrles, so i dont imagine new material from Nevermore, but if the gods of metal were to come together once more and bless us with a second conquering album, then maybe the efforts to actually conquer dystopia, as it seems were in the wake of, could be underpinned by the power of near messianic metal. anyway, killed it.
