Brilliant musician and composer. Glad to hear he's a nice guy, too! And God help me I love the accent. Music to my American ears.

I would like to add while I agree completely with the talent of Wood being underrated I think most know that Bevan was famous due to his relationship with the two masters because without Lynne, ELO disintegrated. Lynne is ELO and though I personally would love to see the 7 of them together the fact is that Lynne was God in the ELO universe. So,Jeff should own all rights to ELO period, regardless who was there when or what part they owned. What Jeff possessed money can't buy-not even a share.

That's what explains why he hasn't got more fame or wasn't promoted by the international media. The guy didn't rage on anybody, hasn't had any notorious conflicts, didn't sing songs against anyone, hasn't got an enormous ego, behaved himself very moderately, wasn't involved in scandals, didn't destroy hotels or threw TV sets out of the window... he is just some nice guy which is interested in making good music. That's why the press (and consequently the RORHOF) give so little importance to him.

People want to see the real elo ,thats why the zoom thing bombed!fans love nostalgia so if jeff could could only swallow his pride and get the guys back together, even if it was just a farewell mega tour ,it would wrap things up nicely and i guarantee it would create a lot of media interest and be a huge success

I believe both Lynne and Wood are both very talented in their own ways. Of course I think both Lynne and Wood are both creative enough that they could have never functioned in a band together without clashing on a daily basis. It would have been like having two very territorial cats in one room together.

I agree...would like to see The Moody Blues in it too. They both use the rock with the orchestra and can really "Rock"...although we can still see Moody Blues today in concert, I too would love to see ELO w/Jeff Lynne together again.

According to both Roy and Jeff, Roy left in order to save the friendship between the two friends. There were no hard feelings.

big difference. john, george and ringo all wrote and co-wrote songs within the beatles. kelly and the others were only a backup band.

Got to agree. But .... Lynne doesn't need them, nor the money. I'd love nothing more than to see him with Grucett, Bevan, Tandy, Kaminski, McDowell, and Edwards. Roy Wood would have never let ELO create the music that they eventually did. Wood loved precussion and horns. Lynne was more creative and diverse than Wood also. The two would have clashed daily and the band would have been in an early grave.

Hey Pennyloafer, as big as a Bev Bevan fan that I am, I still take offense to your comment about that "Punk from David Lee Roth's Band". Gregg Bissonnette is not only a great drummer, but a great teacher and person. I met him about 14 years ago at a drum clinic with the great and charasmatic Carmine Appice, the underrated Bobby Rock and Letterman Show drummer Anton Fig, who was actually, a dick. Gregg, however, was very gracious and well spoken.

Why is Jeff Lynne not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame????? Why??? Phil Spector's Wall of "crap" earned him a place yet Jeff Lynne far surpassed that eccentric, freakazoid's "supposed" talent. The real genius and master of music is JEFF so get it straight RRHF, give honor where honor is due. This mere fact is an outrage to musicians that truly have an ear for the REAL artist..........Mr. Lynne.

@rdorris724 Being inducted into the hall of fame always results in others being compared to those already in it. If you put the truly greatest artists in it straight away, how will lesser mortals get in? Everyone who has a decision as to who gets "in" has their personal favorites. They want to see their personal favs get in, then maybe the "best" might have a shot. Thus, I take the refusal of the RNRHoF to induct ELO or Jeff Lynne as a sign of their deep respect. Rush is in the same position.

Some of what you say is credible, but I think you're just going out of your way to be needlessly provocative. Kelly and Bev are doing ok without Jeff, and Jeff is obviously doing ok without them. If tomorrow, Jeff came to them and said "hey let's do a new album and tour", they'd both accept without blinking an eye.
