Josh Smith def in my Top 5 favorites to watch as a kid..& I’m not even from ATL …nobody was doing the dunks he was AND locking up on defense getting blocks ..bruh was exactly that “Smoove” (pause) lmao

Smoove is my fav but to be fair, the reason why he never made all D team, is because he played against prime Duncan and KG.

This is exactly what I thought when Smoove said it's all Political. No tf it wasn't in that era, the competition was crazy

@@24Vetthe’s not lying it is political. Plenty of times a player didn’t deserve an mvp finals mvp all star nods all nba all defense. Draymond green is a perfect example he cried on national tv for a dpoy because Kawhi and gobert were on the verge of winning again. He made multiple all star games averaging 10 pts while others who were better were left off that’s politics right there. Jaylen brown and Trae young was kept off team USA because of politics. If you don’t believe that just ask why do they have non athletic media heads who never played the sport professionally determining who gets the awards?
@1fan-9
@1fan-9 Күн бұрын
he made 1 tbf. He was 2nd in dpoy and got a 2nd team I would agree there's politics in that sense.
@1fan-9
@1fan-9 Күн бұрын
@@idgaf5794 Trae Young was coming off a hand injury last year he also would've been in the same situation as Hali JB would've got DNPd like tatum both offered nothing the team didn't have. I agree that politics kept JB off the team. also fan voting is a big factor for all start teams that's why Teague made one averaging 15 ppg because that Hawks team was really good. Draymond has been an all-star the years the warriors are good

If Josh didn’t get obsessed with shooting threes, he’d be a great we’d all be talking about to this day. He’s one of my favorite hawks ever, but he just gassed himself too much trying to be a long range shooter. Shout out Teague too was crush when he left Atlanta. Miss those hawk eras

Josh Smith finished somewhere among the DPOY votes 6 yrs in a row, including 3 in the top 10. He made the All-Defensive team ONCE. It's clear the NBA/media didn't want to award a guy whose mentality was outwardly as he described here (IGAF, basically). But in those years he was the Deion Sanders of basketball. So athletic he'd still catch you even if you beat him, and you just assumed whoever he was guarding was going to have a have a bad game.

2013-14 Season Smoove was an egregious all star snub. I think that is the year he was talking about, back when Horford was injury prone. He was the best player on a playoff team and never got the respect I was baffled.
