Darvin Ham had one of my favorite Slam Dunk Contest dunks growing up. The one where he slapped the backboard. It was really creative especially for back then.

That’s 97 when Ham got cheated by the judges in the first round. Kobe eventually won but had Darvin made it to the second round things would’ve been different.

I’ve had moments where I was critical of Hams rotations earlier in the season, but this postseason he has proven to be adept at game-to-game adjustments. Ham made a lot of defensive re-assignments to counteract what golden state tried to do, namely pulling AD out of the paint. When AD was in the paint, the Warriors were terrified of going to the rim. Ham adjusted to this and several other tactics Golden State attempted. Ham has his players ear and they play like they respect him. I think he will be a fine coach in the NBA.
