Your delivery is so smooth and deliberate; there are no pause words or "ummms". So, ummmm, my vote is that either Audrey is standing behind the camera with bristle board or you have a teleprompter.🙂

If you have a teleprompter you are either a ninja at reading and maintaining eye contact or you just have a few bullet points to cover in the video. I've filmed over 700 videos on my other channel with a teleprompter and I found it impossible to keep perfect eye contact unless I'm memorizing each line.

I'm all in on a big "no" to the teleprompter. The way you speak about things I just don't see it. I think you use your video editing skills well to blend it all together awesome. I think what will shock a lot of people is the amount of time you put into these videos. I bet it's something like 4-5 hours of work for every 10 minutes that we see in the final product. People have no idea how much time this stuff really takes. You do awesome and I can't wait for your newsletter! Keep up the great work:)

PS - I LOVE These training diaries. What I love the most about it is it doesn't have to be this all out- super impactful video. It can just be a weekly check in and here is what I'm doing. I just love trail running and enjoy content like you put out. There are so many videos on youtube in this space but not very many great ones:)

@@cpruns4501 it does take a long time (me especially I feel like). All of my race recap videos 100% take me longer to edit and produce then running the actual event - even my first 100 miler, at 35.5 hours. But as I’ve always said, the hours and work I put into a video is a one-time effort (sorta) but gives me - and my family and friends - always something to look back on and cherish. It’s worth it to me to make these even if it’s just for me because of how much I enjoy rewatching them, so when others show their appreciation for what I’ve done it’s just so incredible. Thanks a ton for watching, commenting, and just now subscribing to my channel! Let’s see if I can bump past 200 by the end of this year! Happy running!

I really enjoyed the training diaries this year and I hope you will bring it back next season. I'm a big fan of the Leki poles and their strap system. It's so nice not to have to grip tye poles tightly. I'm kinda impressed you managed to break one 😅. In regards to that definitely contact Leki to see if the pole can be repaired. They stock lots of replacement parts for years and I've had a great experience with their customer service in the past.

Good job on the race! I was following you live as well as Audrée and was surprised that so many people were able to follow your pace or even go faster, the level is so high it's incredible. Regarding the prompt, I never thought about it, but now that you mentioned it... I also wanted to say that I really enjoyed these training diaries this year and I hope that they will come back next year! I wish you a pleasant recovery and I hope that you know that you are inspiring many people to run more and in a smarter way (including me with my very very small 59km with no moutains...).

Great advice: take a walk during a long flight about every hour. On my way back form the Mt. Everest Base Camp Trek (Doha to Philadelphia) I didn't do that and ended up with a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I doesn't affect my trekking performance but my leg is still a little swollen. Now, I take a little trip to the toilet every hour. Thanks for all your very helpful videos.

My vote is a 'no' on the teleprompter. I had wondered this previously as you provide wonderful, and sometimes lengthy, commentary when addressing the camera and I just attributed this to natural ability and knowledge. Perhaps I shouldn't peek behind the curtain! Great training series, it has been a joy and an education to follow!

Your training diaries are the first videos that I checked each time I went on KZbin. They were always captivating, very well filmed and produced. It never felt repetitive and I always learned something as an old new runner. I had been musing the prompter question but could not tell and decided there was no need to speculate since I could probably just ask you :-) Now I am looking forward to hearing about it, while I know I'll miss the diaries like so many others when the last is done. But, I am also looking forward to the long documentaries. (signed up for the newsletter and hope it worked). One last thing: I'll try a Spa after my next parkrun

Good point about the recovery you mention by David Roche. I'm sure your body will be more than ready to come back to training and have some fun in the trails or with some speed workout. As I don't have any goal for the coming months, that's how I "structure" my weekly runs. Mixing a bit of this and that, trying to keep my fitness level and maybe improve my Strava segments :) I have enjoyed these diaries and looking forward upcoming content. Cheers

Once you get your own pair, just be wary of keeping the upper telescoping section of pole clean and dry when you store them after runs. I had five separate poles seize internally and the telescoping section wouldn’t come out! All were replaced under warranty by Leki, but given the demand for them, it took a while to get replacements. As far as I know this is only an issue with the new Superlite version, I have both and it has never happened with the non-superlite version. But I keep replacing them cause they perform the best!

Great stuff - that spa looked brilliant. I am wondering if you and/or Audree get the blues a day or two after these long races? It happens to me and seems to be not uncommon. And yes on the teleprompter 🤔 you never stumble over your words…
@audreelafreniere2258
@audreelafreniere2258 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely after the ''high'' and satisfaction of achieving such a big goal, comes a ''low''. For me, the blues come a week or so after, when I feel somewhat recovered but still unable to train or set my mind onto my next goal. There is a bit of a void, but the best thing to do is to fill it with family time, catch up with friends and do other gentle activities (in my case, gravel biking) until I can start running regularly again.
