Cool video, as usually by Jeff. @Jeff, seeing how much mud and rain was during the race, I wonder which shoes did you wear? Normally, which are your favourites for Ultra/Wet/Muddy races?

This is the video that inspired me to start running last year. I ran two half marathons by now, and next year I'll start trail running. Sometimes I just come back here to re-live the emotions of the first time I saw it, honestly it gets me each single time. Thank you Jeff and Audrée for showing how beatiful this sport is. Hopefully I'll meet you out there someday!

Too bad I got the HM65R before I knew about the T version, but I’m super picky with stuff sometimes and don’t always like ordering online without getting hands on first. My local REI only carries the model I got. Maybe I’ll get another one and order this as I know I’ll like it for sure and just use it for another activity or for camping or something. I’d like to get something like this but with a red light as well.

Good thing about this race is the pack gets lighter everyday as the food gets eaten. And Jeff you would have got the 3rd place if you weren't filming, holding things in the arms is tiring even for just a bit at a time. I don't even carry my water bottle while racing. ..

Love the documentary. Minor comment on the music: that flamenco-ish background music is folk music from the south of Spain, it's not really music that really represents the northern regions of Spain. I mean, as a Spaniard, watching the Pyrenees with flamenco-ish music in the background is kind of strange 😊.
@JeffPelletier3 күн бұрын
I appreciate the feedback! I’m quite limited in the styles of music available on the websites I license from, especially when I need so many tracks for a longer project like this. So I tend to go more for something that represents the mood of the scene and the story, even if it’s not entirely accurate. I appreciate that this can be distracting though for someone from the region!

Rewatching this for the ??th time, and every time I watch, I remember being at the airport on my way back from my own trail race, refreshing and refreshing and refreshing the tracker as Jeff closed the last couple miles! Such an amazing effort and a fantastic film. It really captures the beauty of the Moab area ❤

What a beautiful run! Jeff, sometimes in a small way that maybe I never realise at the time, in other times in very obvious ways, your videos always inspire! Each one after the one before. I'm running a mixed variety of runs at about 30km per week at the minute, and one day I'd love to run in some of Vancouver, and nearer to home too. Thanks, helps a lot! Also Jeff, how very rude to be kicking up so much dust ahead of Audrée, shocked, shocked I say

One point you didn't mention which might not include some. I have the Petzl 900 Swift RL which can be worn around the neck as well as the head. Keeping the beam ahead instead of where you turn your head. Our village has no street lights so I find this to be brilliant. Pardon the pun.

Hah, I could never figure out a use case for wearing a headlamp around one’s neck, but that makes sense. Thanks!

Why is it you guys kept saying it was soo hot yet noone seemed to be drenched in sweat? Audree looked as fresh as a daisy, yet she was hot, you must be really climatized.
@JeffPelletier7 күн бұрын
It’s a dryer heat here in BC, so unlike in humid environments, your sweat does tend to evaporate. But it still has a huge effect on perceived effort.
@leschortos91967 күн бұрын
@JeffPelletier I'm from the most southern tip of Canada, Leamington, we 90% humidity here you walk across the street your soaked. Did Ironman years ago, they have ice stops along the coarse, to load up on for chilling you down, it's well received by the athletes.

When i read up on the Venta gloves. Some reviews on the Arcteryx website say the new ones they sell are not as good as the old. When did you buys yours? In case they are not the same anymore
@JeffPelletier11 күн бұрын
Mine are a few years old, so that may be the case! I’ll look into this though and will see if I can get my hands on a new pair to ensure I’m not recommending a subpar product.

Great video Jeff! What would you use for waterproof gloves though as sometimes they are in mandatory gear. The Venta are technically not waterproof
@JeffPelletier12 күн бұрын
I should have been more specific about this. Salomon makes a good pair called the Bonatti that I’d probably carry to satisfy the requirement. But don’t expect them to stay dry for more than an hour or so, like any waterproof overglove in my experience.

I've been using the skyline fastpack for over a year and really like it! I do wish there was some sort of compression strap for the back panel for when you aren't carrying a bunch of overnight gear, that way you can convert it more into a running vest. But overall I use it all the time
@MitchKirkham16 күн бұрын
Pretty good pack! Just did rim to rim to rim in it a couple weeks ago. My only complaint is that when fully loaded the bottles are much more difficult to insert and also don’t sit all the way in like a Salomon adv skin 12 for example. However that design is workable and not a dealbreaker. As far as comfort goes the bag worked great!

I've watched most of , if not all, of your videos, but this seemed like a tough one for you.

I find that with the weight a 30l pack can end up at, once you have camping gear and water and food, a solid hip belt makes a huge difference. Picked up the osprey talon velocity 30 recently and couldnt see myself being comfortable carrying the full fastpacking load in a bag with less of a hip belt

Did you have any problem with your knee or any other joints? Running long distance especially trial running may be a problem to the joints.
@JeffPelletier15 күн бұрын
I don’t get any knee problems. Is your statement based on your own personal experience as a runner? I ask because I typically hear this from *non* runners. My understanding is that running can increase bone density and can actually strengthen the joints. The trick is to not do too much too soon as your body needs time to adapt.
@vanlalfelaralte604411 күн бұрын
@JeffPelletier yes I'm a runner and i experience knee pain but when I change my running sneakers and started using knee support It help me and the pain fades away. By the way, I love your content. Big fan from India 🇮🇳 ❤ God bless
