Had my Real Time drilled pin down. So far, it doesn't hook very much (1 handed righty). If i throw it down 8, it might hook to 10.

@@codyjames1158 pin down makes balls flare less, so they go longer and hook less and smoother. No offense but it sounds like it’s doing exactly what it was laid out to do.

None taken. Didn't do pin up because we thought it might be too much for where I bowl. Changed the surface to 1000 and it hooks more now and gets to the pocket nice and smooth.

This one looks really interesting... I have a lane shined GB5, that I absolutely love, it can play all over the lane and it looks great almost everywhere 1st-5th arrow. It's like a perfect mix of an IQ/OG Idol for me that kicks out the corners. However, there are times it does get a little slow or picks up too early. . I've been looking for a complimentary ball, with a similar shape to go to when that happens. I picked up a Gb4 hybrid, but honestly it's more far apart than I was expecting. I don't see a similar shape with my GB4 Hybrid. With some shine, It is too clean, forward and fast of the friction. With surface it's just too smooth to come back. This looks like it could be that same rounder more continuous motion of the GB5 to go to when the GB5 is slowing down and not going through the pins properly. Thanks for the video

@daniellenart1729 You're welcome. I'm loving this ball so far. Just shot 777 in league with it tonight, just kept moving left all night, ball comes back from everywhere and never lost hitting power.

Touch the surface of the gb4 with 3000 just to break the shine and you'll see a completely different ball

After throwing both, I feel like the Real Time is a bit earlier and smoother, and a bit more hook overall, but I think these two are both the types of balls where it might vary a bit depending on who's throwing them, the lane conditions, etc. They're close.

Nice review. How do you think this will compare to a GB5 with the same surface?

@069rene Thank you, glad you liked it. I would expect the GB5 to be earlier and smoother with the same surface. I wouldn't expect he GB5 cover to be as clean or as responsive to dry as the HK22 base coverstock in the Real Time. The lower RG in the GB5 would likely also contribute to getting the ball to see the pattern earlier. The differential is lower, though, so it might counteract that a bit, but it would also contribute to a less aggressive backend move as well. Just my prediction. I'd have to try it to see if I'm right 😁😁

@ thank you. I personally think the Real Time can be as strong as the GB5 at the same surface but just with a different shape.

@069rene d Depends on how you define "strength." If you're just looking at board coverage, it would not surprise me one bit if the Real Time was more.

@069rene that's what I mean, though. "Strength" is a vague term. Balls can be strong in different ways and different aspects of ball reaction (board coverage, earlier, snappier, etc). I don't know which of those aspects you're referring to.
