Hi, I use my Kalorik Maxx to hard boil eggs and am very pleased with how they cook and how easy they are to peel. I preheat at 250 for about 3 mins, place 3 - 4 eggs in the basket and use the regular air fry level (not the top fast air frying level). I cook them for 17 mins at 250 and place them in cold water for about 15 mins.

The egg cooker I have uses a small amount of water under the eggs with a pinhole in the big end of the egg just enough to let some steam help cook the eggs. You might put one of the pans underneath the pin holed eggs with some water in it. You could use a little pin like in a diabetics kit that’s used to prick the finger to put a tiny hole in the shell. That’s all you need for some steam to get in there and cook the eggs and it helps with peeling also. I always soak my eggs in warm water after cracking the shell a little water gets under the shell and it’s easier to peel

Hard boiled eggs 280° 18 minutes. IMMEDIATELY into an ice bath for 5-8 minutes. Comes out perfect in my 8 quart Power Airfryer Pro Oven
@KimJoins2 жыл бұрын
Hi - I was about to hard cook a dozen eggs and thought I'd search for any new ideas, esp the difference in types of air fryers. Thankfully, I found your video! While I was using the Air Fry setting at 425 degrees, after seeing your intro, I took the time down to 12 mins from 18 and the temp down to 400. My mom has a Cuisinart (oven type) air fryer, and it always needs higher temps and more time than typical recipes, so I was going for *both* while trying this in my Kalorik! lol Meanwhile, I have a dozen hard cooked, not too easy to peel eggs, with just a touch of over-heated coloring on the ends, and some are over-cooked just under the shell. The centers of yolks were "just" done (perfect). After cooking, I placed the basket into a sink of cold water. Cook time was 12 minutes and temp was 400 degrees. I will lower the heat and increase the time next time. Thanks for sharing your review!

To peel an egg, roll them back and forth until the shell cracks all over into tiny segments, always start at the air end and grab the thin membrane and the shell will come off almost in one piece.. Alaso the best way to do boiled eggs is fill a sauce pan with water enough that will cover the eggs, bring the water to a full rolling boil, use tongs and place the eggs into the boiling water, cover and turn off the heat. Let eggs stay in the water until cooled or room temperature, then just put into cold water, roll back and forth and peel.

I've haven't tried it in an oven yet but pricking the top with an egg piercer prevents it from bursting. Then tapping and rolling the cooked egg creating tiny cracks all over before attempting to remove the shell should make it really easy. I wonder what would happen if you put them into water, then into the oven. Perhaps a bain-marie would work - adding a tray of water underneath the eggs? Up to now I have liked using the Cuisinart electric egg cooker. Your part 1 and 2 were excellent. Thanks.

In case you haven't already heard/tried this...try the eggs by poking a hole with an egg piercer or needle on the fat end of the egg and then cook it. Not tried eggs in my Maxx yet and probably won't. As another commenter said, I also cook them in my Instant Pot. I poke a hole in the fat end, put about 15-18 eggs in the basket (depending on size of egg), set it for Manual 10 minutes, and walk away. When finished, I do a quick release of the pressure, put the basket of eggs in an ice bath (actually, I dump the hot water out of the Instant Pot insert, put it in the sink, return the basket of eggs to it, and cover it in ice. And EVERY time we have done this (several dozen eggs) they have been perfectly cooked AND the shells literally slide ride off the egg. We just tap the egg on the counter and roll it as you did in your demo, begin to pry a portion of the shell, and the whole thing just pops right off! It's totally eggstraordinary!!! We do use the Maxx for MANY things now though, love it so far.

With a regular hardboiled egg from a pot on the stove I peel them in the cooling water. Sometimes I wait until the eggs are completely cooled, sometimes I don't wait. But, peeling them under water allows me to get the peel off in strips like sometimes happens when you peel an apple. I will take the egg out of the saucepan in the cool water bath, roll it across the counter, put it back into the waterbath and work the end loose from the wider part of the egg. Most times I get a clean peel with no fingernail nicks into the egg. Maybe that technique will work with an air fried hard boiled egg too. Thanks very much for your videos. They have been informative and are helping me to make a decision about which air fryer to buy.

Have you tried doing rotisserie chicken? I tried making a 5lbs chicken, which fit inside. But there’s not instruction so I relied on the rotisserie preset, which is 40min at 435F. After the preset, the chicken was still at 160F. I added another 15min at same temp, and it’s still 160F in the thigh area. I finally just sliced it open because the skin was getting burned. The breast was perfect but the thighs were still raw. I just baked the remaining uncooked chicken. What a hot mess. Haha. Do you have a better recommendation?

I just got one of these, and in the instructions on using it, there is an insert that says that they have updated the Defrost function so you can extend cooking time up to 9 hours and 59 minutes to make it easier to use as a dehydrator so I'm hoping this works as I was really looking forward to the dehydrate function. Just an extra tip when peeling off eggs after boiling (or air-frying..?) Make sure to put them in cold water at least for a minute (make sure to pour more cold water, because the water will get warmer pretty soon! ;) Some may say put some salt in the water before boiling them, and they actually do help, but from my personal experience, I had no problem with peeling off eggs after drowning those hot boiled eggs into cold water!
@MeDebraLee19562 жыл бұрын
Very true! You need to constantly check your cold water, if it goes warm….just keep in sink and dump out warm add cool…..If you want to do it the old fashioned way; 1. put eggs in water and bring to a hard boil, 2. Put the cover of the pan on and take the saucepan OFF the heat 3. place the saucepan on another cool burner, or on the counter with a hot pan holder (I just place the saucepan in the sink) 4. set timer for 10 to 12 minutes, then run cool water into the pan; keep checking because water will become warm just keep adding cool tap water, 5. To peel, start at WIDE end of egg (make sure you have the clear membrane (especially if the eggs are bought at a farm) and it’ll peel like a dream 😉

@@Jeffreviews4u And thank you for the excellent detailed reviews. My chefman airfryer rotisserie just broke, and I'm shopping for a replacement. I'm trying to figure out if the extra space in the oven will still have the quick air frying I had in the smaller chefman. What do you think, can you tell if one model airfrys faster/better? The chefman had shelves, but pretty much only the top one browned well, the lower shelves just kept warm, so I had to keep moving food around. Looks to me like the other features may be mediocre.

Try doing the hard cooked eggs at 260 for 13 minutes. Leave them to cool inside the turned off oven for 10 minutes; no water bath necessary. As soon as you can handle them after that, peel and eat, if you wish.

Try using cold water instead of ice water. Not leaving them in the cold water too long that the eggs are cold. The shells peels off the eggs better when warm or hot.

The reviews on this were good, so I bought it. But the doors don’t seem to be well sealed. Steam comes out at the sides even on the air fry cycle. Then I have water pooled on my counter. Is anybody having this problem? I don’t want to return it, but I think I may have to.

@@Jeffreviews4u I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but are you a totally independent reviewer, or do companies send you their merchandise for free to review. Because if the latter is the case, it is easy to tolerate disfunction if it doesn’t involve your hard earned money. I was looking for something I could use on an almost daily basis to cook efficiently, but I really don’t know if I can put up with paddles of steam. If they can’t seal a door properly something that has been successfully done since appliances started to be manufactured, what does that say about the quality of the machine as a whole?
