What a shot by Jeff de Luna @ 27:11👏👏👏 the speed and control of the cue ball on that shot is 😮

Yeah I will admit it's not exactly a big ball there and I'm not going to doubt perhaps a few planned hops of the cue ball to help initially keep it straight and then shorten up but all with speed and some bounce to make sure the reverse spin is there on the second rail ... It could also be all non intended because I don't believe out of hand there is much future in bouncing a cue ball and therefore it's very possible the way the three laid, he was trying to come three rails where now the three ball is huge if you can come rail first off the end rail.... But the fact he hit it so hard I don't know I'd have to look up table to see if a miss gets him safe at the same time... I think if he's going to try to come off three rails then he doesn't hit it quite so hard and therefore I don't like to second guess these guys because I damn well know how good they are capable of playing like if they happen to be at your pool for a week playing basically on the same table everyday it won't be too long before you might start wondering if anybody could beat the guy or maybe even not realizing a person could actually play that good. That's what I took away with when Nick varner came in for a week when he was number one in 1989 and I'm quite sure these guys in the same instance are not even close to Nick Varner... I mean like the guy missed a three-rail bank in triple face type pockets like once a day. I won't even begin to explain what I saw when he played his wife where she's not exactly a slouch and he spotting her the three five seven nine but he can only kick or billiard or combinate.... It would be dumb for me to even try to explain what I saw because somebody else would rightfully chalk it down to just luck and of course Nick being more apt to be lucky than the next guy. But when you add up all the other stuff you see him do or he plays an odd combination and squeezes the nine in between another ball just off of the rail and the nine like it had eyes perfect vertical rotation into the corner pocket. Whatever shot as long as it laid natural like the shot I described, That's what he would shoot for the money. In the Philippines they recognize Efren and rightfully so but you won't have a hard time finding the average money player there saying ephrine is their guy but Nick is their hero

I must have watched a hundred racks of Chris Melling recently. It took me the better part of an hour.

An hour? Apparently he's slowing down in his old age.

Look how similar Chris' breaks are at 0:01 and 14:05. Exact same ball knocks the cue ball in. What a machine.

I'll be 'for' Melling when he stops clinging to The G.o.a.t.'s nickname. Only solipsism would let him cling this long. I think he makes himself look clownish in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Jeff can run circles around these bar players (Melling not being one of them unless you count British pubs)

7:22 The commentator obviously doesn't know the meaning of infamous. Jeff being known for his break is not a bad thing.

Jeff’s break is a bad thing if you’re playing him. Scary break = infamous break in this case. Don’t overthink it.

Is that a small barbox table? Doesn't look like a full size 9 x 4 1/5
@b4ssfunk3d8 ай бұрын
It is. Surprised me because I've never seen Jeff play on anything but a 9 foot table. 8 ball pool is typically meant to be played on bar boxes because it's the bar player game of choice. I play a lot at pool halls and the 9 foot tables almost always have a 9, 10 ball, or 1 pocket game going on. I own a 7 footer and I can run racks in 8 ball all day long. But running a rack of 9 ball or 10 ball on a 9 foot table with 4.25 pockets takes a higher degree of skill than 8 ball on a 7 footer no doubt.

at 18:19 rookie comment by the commentator. The umpire still need to know if the balls are touching due to the solid ball may be resting on the cue ball and it still may move due to the cue ball moving away and the solid ball settling into place. This would NOT be a foul.
