Great match Darren. He can still play good pool. I like pro players playing on the small tables. Most of my students shoot on the 7-foot tables. You can learn a lot watching the pro's. Johnny Henson Professor Pool in USA.

Would be great to see them play with English pool balls, and smaller pockets. But take nothing away from Darren Appleton fantastic win, well done.

Smaller pool balls, also a smaller table, smaller tip diameter on the cues.. basically everything is smaller which makes it not harder or easier than American 8 ball pool (the table's having professional tournament size 4-4.25" pockets, not 4.45-5 buckets)

English pool I believe is played on a 6 or 6.5 foot table while American 8 ball pool is typically played on bar size 7 foot tables. 9 ball, 10 ball, and One Pocket are almost always played on a 9 foot table at the professional level, and 7 footer for APA tournaments.

@@b4ssfunk3d English pool it played on a 7ft by 4ft table with smaller pockets. The pockets are not as open as well, it is much harder to play on. The balls are also a bit smaller.
