A Little sad that as a Sound Explorer Collection owner my cross grade price is $199. I was really hoping to see something like a $99 intro cross grade offer that would eventually end up $199 Nonetheless: Stage-73 definitely has some pretty Imaging, M/S processing, and Saturation harmonics going on and that's just me listening on Apple AirPods. I could see the Emulator II V tugging some of the spotlight away from the CMI V for that Lofi goodness - Resample into Pigments 2 if you wanna really get wild with it. I'd just bought UVI's Synth Anthology collection and spent a bunch of time going through the Emulator II library. Man, that keyboard had the best sound library of probably any PCM synth ever made. Obviously they sound a bit low-fi by today's standards (which might be what you want), but it's usable sound after usable sound, right out of the box. The Fairlight, which usually gets most of the plaudits for early samples, is rubbish by comparison - you have to do a lot of work to get the library sounds to sound like they did on the hit records.

I must say, I onced read in Keyboard magazine that the E-mu II had a peculiar arpeggiator, one that could divide the neasure according to the number of keys depressed, so 1 note = 1 pulse per measure, 2 notes = 2 pulses per measure, 3 notes = three pulses, etc. I never found anything like it in any synth or sampler or rompler, be it modular, analog or virtual. I even talk to a guy at Intelligel about that feature and he told me that it was a great idea, one that he could implement someday in one of his modules. I'm not into modular synthesis, so I can't tell if he did. Still, I 'm wondering if the Arturia clone has that feature reproduced... Thanks for checking it out!

hi Jef, my question is for the Maschine users. i have a MK3, and with V Collection 7, Maschine instantly recognised it. even had the little photo icons in the browser. i think Arturia automatically adds their own folder to the NI folders once you install the V Collection(at least for 7 it did). i don't remember actually doing anything special to make this happen. with V Collection 8, i can't seem to find any of the new synths(Emulator II V where are you?) in my Maschine browser. any advice on how to make V Collection 8 show up in Maschine's browser?

Hey Jef has Steinberg fixed the issue with using displays that size and the plug-ins being able to be viewed and resized?...Esp the ones they sell like Poly and Wave where you can't resize the window bcse a lot of plugins come fixed sizes and when opened up on big monitors that have multiple screens they spread across the screens and you can't view them on 1 monitor unless it's in edit mode only and you lose the view in player mode...I find it kinda weird that I constantly see these massive studios with well over $100k in gear and then you see them working on a 27" screen or whatever the biggest widescreen Mac has as their latest. I use 3 screens and my main is a 42" but I haven't upgraded since I still can't see certain plug-ins on my main monitor. I haven't heard that they addressed those issues with the updates to my last time checking on it supporting full resizing of the windows like Arturia has built in.

Absolutely... but to me it's the educational aspect of all of these devices, and how close they are to the originals. I now have 3 of the synths in hardware form, and the software versions teach me a ton about the hardware! Plus having the patches makes it easier to dial in a certain era of sounds...
@digilog0993 жыл бұрын
Except of the look of user interface JUN-6V has nothing to do with a Juno 6/60 - it just sounds like an analog poly synth vst- nothing more. Special when building sounds there is a significant difference in its behavior - where the original sounds good the JUN-6V is creating something - no fun, the finesse of the original is completely missing. As you have shown, to make JUN-6V sounds right much detail work is necessary. Looking forward how Roland will build its Juno60 VST... The Vocoder btw. is really great but has some bugs in its first version - but I think Arturia will fix them for sure. Emulator 2, Piano, is just a sampler or piano lib - not so interested. OB-Xa V analog poly synth vst- is also just an analog poly synth vst - cannot compare it, but compared to Matrix 1000, the Matrix 1000 sounds much more interesting. The last update had much more interesting inside - so I think 199.- is way too much, for me, just for the vocoder - but I spent it.
