Well said! I have to admit it makes my skin crawl when they use the word ransom, because it doesn't really mean much at all in their view. WT has taught JWs to believe that they are good people who just sometimes make mistakes. They even think that if it were them in the garden instead of Adam and Eve, they would never have sinned and everyone would be living on "paradise earth" forever.

@@scottgrey2877 Well, sort of... The ones I've talked to seem to really look down on Adam and Eve because they feel that if it were _them_ instead, _they_ wouldn't have eaten the fruit. So they're annoyed with them or something because now they're "imperfect" and "make mistakes" that require them to work hard for the opportunity to live on paradise earth. This is what they say about the ransom on their web site. "Only Jehovah God could provide a suitable ransom for Adam’s descendants. He alone could cause a human to exist whose life force did not come from Adam. This was accomplished by transferring the life force of *one of his spirit sons* to the womb of Mary. By the regular process of birth a human was then born whose life did not come from Adam through procreation. Because it did not, Christ was perfect and free from inherited sin. He was not in captivity to sin and death. Because Christ came into the world in this fashion he was human with all the human life rights possessed by Adam before sinning. *He was Adam’s equal* and thus a suitable ransom for mankind. " Christ is Adam's EQUAL, and the result of the implantation of the life force of one of God's "spirit sons" in Mary? Just bizarre.

Chuck Russell came from a lawyer family. That's where the whole legal one for one equal for equal justice thing comes from. JWs actually say that it didn't have to be the Word becoming flesh, it could've been any angel. Now granted, Christianity still has a lot of weird stuff to explain about the ransom but the JW version is nothing more than a legal contract from Genesis 3:15 being fulfilled. Nothing really extraordinary, just the balances of justice being exercised. Side note: JWs make a big deal about Russell splitting from Barbour the Christadelphian because Barbour 'denied the ransom'.' He didn't, he argued that there was nothing wrong with Christ taking his physical body back, as God could have a fly could do the same, but Russell thought taking back his body would legally nullify the ransom. The thing about JWs is they have to have a logical, legal reason for everything. Christians simply go with what the Bible actually says, in context, with all its contradictory statements of faith, and don't sweat the details (such as, what is a resurrected, glorified, spiritual body?"

@@LightoverDarkMinistry I have a humble request for a future video and shout out on an intriguing topic "Can JWs truly believe that Jehovah and Jesus exist whilst being a member of their Religion?" I ask this question because JWs more often than not become Atheist when they wake up and leave the group.(possibly an agenda by Satan?) "Satan Got em while they are in and got em while they are out" JWs ask incredibly ridiculous questions like, "If this is not "The Truth" then I don't know what is?" Or "Where else is there for me to go to?" I was never a JWs but heard 2 elders trying to convince me JWs were God's only true religion ask these questions. "If this is not "The Truth" then I don't know what is?" John 14:6 debunks that question. Or "Where else is there for me to go to?" John 14:6 also debunks this question. When a JWs wakes up and realizes that they were in a false religion, it doesn't mean Jehovah and Jesus suddenly just stopped existing. Well only if a JWs didn't actually truly believe that they existed in the first place. The membership into the JWs high control group is nothing more than a "Live Forever in Paradise & Hope I Never Die" insurance policy in the event that Jehovah does actually exist It's a policy for folks who become too afraid of their own death. Which ironically stems from the groups false teachings regarding the soul and death.

This is the issue with Christianity, the incredible amount of disagreement over nearly everything, a battle centuries old. You beat up the jw's (deservedly) but there is so much discord and division among "Christians" it turns people like me (an ex-jw) off to the Bible and Christianity. I was a witness for 45 years and knew little of the fractured nature of Christian groups. The Bible is written in such a way that it makes disagreement and debate inevitable. It's hard for me to believe that God would inspire a book that is the most divisive ever written by far.
@LightoverDarkMinistry Жыл бұрын
Believe me I totally get where you’re coming from. There’s nothing more than I despise than Christians hating and separating over a non essential issue. Debate I encourage, but it moves beyond that.I think you’ll find, among the many denominations, there isn’t has much division as it seems. Almost all agree with the essential doctrines, and still a majority agree on the non essentials. Groups come about over style preferences, execution, location, etc. I think even if the Bible was 1 page of very explicit instructions on how to know God, people would still disagree, cause for a lack of a better term…people suck.

@@LightoverDarkMinistry Thanks for responding. I see what you're saying, but classifying things as essential or non-essential is open to yet another depressing debate, it's all based on human opinions as to how essential things are, this is why there are so many denominations and sects.
@LightoverDarkMinistry Жыл бұрын
Thank you for responding. I personally think it's pretty laid out in scripture what the Gospel is, who Jesus is, and most importantly, how to be saved. Jesus was pretty clear about what to believe in. He simplified it, and made it about loving God, loving neighbor, and putting trust in him. An honest read of the Bible you can understand the essential is loving God and others, putting trust in the person and work of Christ, and making sure the Christ you're believing is the real one, and not the one from someone's imagination. When you compare the groups of believers in the world, they are all united on that. You see a pattern with the wacko's, who put the emphasis on their group and not God. When someone misplays Mozart, I don't blame Wolfgang, but the person who playing. People will watch opinions on all types of literature, but doesn't mean I don't enjoy Shakespeare because there's some disagreements. I'm certainly not going to ignore the historic resurrection of Christ because people have misread what he said about himself. @@simplifiedlife8607
