Elohim is not a” name “ of God Adonai is not a” name of God. El Shaddai is not a” name “ of God. The above claimed “names” are in fact titles of God. Exodus 3:15 God declares his name for all to know from generation to generation. “15And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” - ASV YHVH (YHWH) is pronounced Yehovah in Hebrew and this translates to English as Jehovah.

YHVH (YHWH) is NOT a name but abbreviation. It is NOT pronounced Yehovah or Jehovah. These are NOT the names of G-d but substitutes for the Name. Christians misread these abbreviation and decided this is a name of G-d. It is wrong. I agree though that neither Elohim nor Adonai nor El Shaddai is a name either. These are also the substitutes, titles, or something like it.

@@sophielle777 let me understand what you’re saying: YHVH (YHWH) is NOT a name? Where is your proof? I have provided proof in my initial text the it is the “name” of God, they Good himself revealed.

@@jwjim , ask any Jewish Rabbi, and if he is willing to reveal this information to an outsider he'll tell you this is an abbreviation, NOT a name. You need to be an insider to know such things.

That isn’t proof. The Hebrew Scriptures are proof. YHVH is not an abbreviation. Ancient Hebrew was written completely in consonants only, no vowels. That IS the written language of ancient Hebrew. Every person reading the Hebrew back then could read it and understand it and pronounce it. If you think or have been taught YHVH is just an abbreviation, then the entire Hebrew Bible is an abbreviation. But that in itself doesn’t mean Yehovah isn’t the pronunciation of YHVH. Vowel points were added for the later Hebrew for pronunciation. There is a man of the Jewish faith, a modern Hebrew scholar who I have read and he has asked the Rabbis just that. Yehovah is the proper pronunciation in Hebrew of the Tetragrammaton, YHVH, which the God of the Bible has given to men to call upon him, his name for generation to generation. Jewish tradition started in the second century keeps people from pronouncing the divine name, even the spelling of God “g-d”. This tradition in no way honors the true God and our Father Jehovah, the English translation of His name. I am sorry you have been given such wrong information. @@jwjim , you can believe whatever you want. I have my reasons and I discussed the issue directly with several very educated Jewish scholars and rabbis. I am satisfied with my information sources.
