I was unfortunately raised in this horrible cult till I finally just couldn't take it anymore at age 13. I ran to go live with my father. I could tell you story after story about the JWs wouldn't listen or they just thought I was a troublemaker. Until my mom found out that her 4th husband was molesting my 2 niece's. In witch he told my mom on their wedding night that he had had sex with his 2 daughters. And my mom's dad was an elder in the cult. They are the most horrific people in the world. She was never disfeloshiped or anything from marrying outside the church or anything. They even let him do talks. And even after she divorced him and it was public knowledge what he did they didnt disfeloship her.

@@jasmineduran6731 I was an elder when this organizational policy took place it was presented in the Watchtower. I don't remember the year but a quick google search will give you the date. For years the gb appointed all elders and ministerial servants. The circuit overseers and local elders made a recommendation on a Brother but the gb approved it, by praying and relying on the Holy Spirit to appoint the Brother. Then in the 2010 era the instructions changed. I believe they used the biblical example of Paul or Timothy laying hands on a Brother or something along those lines. So here's how it worked. A few weeks before the co's visit the elder body in each congregation would meet and decide if they wanted to recommend a Brother. If they did they contacted the co and gave him a heads up. They had to provide him with alot of information for review before his visit about the potential candidate. The local elders had to do alot of leg work in this process. In the end the local elders and the cos are both on the hook for who they appoint. I set thru a couple of these appointments of ministerial servants. More legalistic, and not much substance to the process. One of the must ask questions in this process was does the Brother have a program of daily Bible reading? I don't miss any of the mind numbing meetings, biggest time waster ever.

I need to remove my son from this religion before he shun me he his already starting to ask me weird question like: why I left or I don’t love Jéhovah anymore at 5 year old the more I try to remove them from this religion the more they preach the more they study can you imagine ?? ☹️ i don’t want him to grow in that religion like I do ! We were all born in, in Cameroon we moved to France and my brother are in USA and London they all left I was the only one still in ! We are 6 and I must say we are not close to each other because some of them were dis fellowship and we were told to shun them . I know it’s because of this religion! She was actually raised in it somewhat too, but didn't become baptized until years later. I think it will take something shocking to shake her up, and probably your husband too. I think all you can do is ask him some gentle questions from time to time that echo your doubts about the Watchtower and maybe point out its hypocrisy. Also, teaching him the proper way of reading the Bible in context will go a LONG way to helping him learn to think for himself. An easy example for example would be the verses used by JWs from Jeremiah to show that Christmas trees are forbidden. Teach him to read (as he is able) the verses that are before the misused verses and after as well, or read them to him. The context shows that Jeremiah is talking about craftsmen who make idols, not using Christiams trees. Another example would be to read the whole section of John 3:1-18 and ask him "How many times (or how long) did the Israelites have to believe what Moses said about looking on the bronze serpent in order to be healed?" Jesus mentioned this story to illustrate the truth about John 3:16, which is that it only takes ONE act of faith to receive the spiritual healing of salvation, as opposed to the lie of 'exercising faith' over an entire life. Asking good questions is one of the best ways to circumvent brain-washed thinking, as well as teaching someone to develop critical thinking skills. The following book does it well, but it not available in French as far as I know: Rhodes, Ron. Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovah's Witnesses. Eugene, Or: Harvest House Publishers, 2009. Then said that he'd kill my dad if I told. I had a mental block about it until I was 18. I tried to tell my mom when I was little. I kept telling her that he was a bad man, but she didn't understand why I was saying that until I was 18. We saw him on the street and my mom asked me why I hated him. Then I began yelling about all he had done to me. In that moment it all came back to me. It was very strange how my mind worked.

Pretty amazing! When you step back and pay attention to their teachings, you see how they step over Jesus headship. This was the watchtower study article this past Saturday called ‘Rely on Jehovah when under stress’ look at paragraph #8 the mid part! So pray to Jehovah often about your problems. He will not speak directly to you as he did to Elijah, but he will speak to you through his Word, the Bible, and through his organization. @@WJTM88 JT my mom and I both left the organization 2 years ago. Best thing we ever did. Sadly my mama died July 10 of this year. She was born in Nicaragua and moved to the USA when she was 21. We were both baptized in 2012. She decided she wanted to return to Nicaragua and preach where the "need" was greater, so in 2014 we left the USA and moved here. We walked many miles the first 2 years here, then her health started to fail. Anyway, we got out of the JW, thankfully. I miss my mama 💔.......

WJTM88 it is essential to have credible knowledgeable x JW at the disposal of lawyers preparing to do battle. You r deserving of praise for your activism. I am not a JW my grandparents and that entire side of my father’s family were and are. When I was in Greece I witnessed (no pun intended) secret meetings. They were indoctrinated in the USA. Ironically, as a kid, I thought my dad’s family were involved in a cult and wanted nothing to do with them. Early on I picked up on the misogynistic attitudes. I was very intuitive and still am. I credit my mom for keeping the indoctrination away. I always thought it was sad and embarrassing to have nothing to do with all those Greek relatives. I started investigating in later years to lessen my sense of guilty feelings from (ironically) shunning them. I was mortified ,as a kid, doomsday: blood transfusions: not celebrating anything: I now feel glad I stayed away. I also finally explained to my 8 children admitting why I am fascinated with the current affairs of JW. I raised in Brooklyn almost abducted along with my brother going to look at mugshots sexually accosted caused ptsd people suffer for their entire lives after events. Continue on as long as you r not burned out as an activist along with your partners!

As an ex JW, I recall a current JW saying the Bible said we would be persecuted and here it comes. My reply was simple, the Bible says that followers of Christ would be persecuted for righteousness sake. Child sex abuse cannot be for righteousness sake. The Witnesses think they could handle the abuse situation theirselves. They didn’t want to put the ones that committed offenses into to the hands of experts of different faiths. They thought they where equipped to handle this them selves. They do obey law as so why did they think they could handle this themselves and not turn the ones whom abused others over to the law enforcement. They need to have abusers get professional help. In 2016 they made the inactive a target come back or be shunned I told my exmother in law if you're inactive that makes you a target period I told her those that sin the most shuns the hardest. They were in the process of cutting the inactive off from family & friends if they had any they were buckling down trying to control information.
