Here I am a 33 year old man and someone makes a Jekyll Hyde reference during the day and this song INSTANTLY returns from my childhood. Listening to it as an adult, this song was much better than it had any business being. Poor kids today really missed out. Brain was the only one who sounded like he was going through puberty
@Ubritoons96 Жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t believe this song wouldn’t of worked as well if Luke Reed (Brain’s first child VA for the Arthur cartoon) didn’t hit puberty when he recorded this. I don’t think it wouldn’t of worked it was recorded while he’s younger or if S4 just replaced him with the NEXT kid VA for the character outright. His older sounding voice just makes his menacing Hyde voice sound more convincing. Reed was soon replaced by another younger child actor after Season 4 so I think this BOP of a song served as an unofficial swan song to his time voicing Brain’s character.
@macbarrpup2451 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Luke is seriously talented and nailed this song because of his deepened voice. I wonder where he is now. I can't find anything on him.
@CJODell128 ай бұрын

[Verse 1] One day I went to the library I found this book, it was great! It was so cool I couldn't put it down Even when it got pretty late! [Verse 3] That night I had a scary dream! I mixed my own secret potion! Added dirt, a bit of sludge some eyes of flies And a tiny dab of sun-tan lotion! [Verse 4] I started shaking, my legs were quaking! My stomach aching, my brain was breaking! I started turning green, feeling mean It was like in that story! I was acting strange, quite deranged It was pure allegory! [Super Useful Fact] Allegory: A story where the characters stand for abstract ideas For example, good and evil [Chorus] CAUSE. I. WAS JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! [Verse 6] When I awoke, I was me again! I hid the book out of sight It was so cool I couldn't keep away So I took it out again that night! [Verse 7] And then I dreamed we had this test in school I gotta say, it was weird! We had to give the answers in semaphore And for extra-credit, grow a beard! [Verse 6] I couldn't take it, just couldn't take it! In one swift motion, I grabbed my potion! HA-HA-HA-HA I said Mr. Hyde has arrived Tossed my flags on the floor Made a major speech Told the teach this is all a big bore! Ran down all the halls, wrote on walls Even stole second base! I was super bad, sure was glad; I wasn't wearin' my face! [Chorus] CAUSE. I. WAS JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! [Verse 7] This is too much, I simply had to stop! I threw that potion away! (potion awaaaaay) But it didn't matter if I drank the stuff I just kept on changing anyway! (changing anywaaaaay) [Chorus] NOW. I. WAS JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! [Ending] Just when it seemed, there was no way out I saw the book was overdue The book-lady said "Are you returning?" I thought And I said "No." "RENEW!!" JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE! JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYDE, HYDE, JEKYLL JEKYLL, JEKYLL HYDE, JEKYLL HYYYYYDE!
