You did really well with this! I really liked your designs! And, I don't know why, I liked the little touch when Jekyll says he's feeling euphoric and he blushes. I don't know why, it just felt like a really good touch. Keep up the good work!

Oh i LOVE this. This transformation is so good, i keep rewatching 3:17, it gives me chills !!! and the way he looks up at the mirror with fear, and then curiosity?? Your art matches the emotion in the vocals so well. I'm the colorist for TGS, so it's such a delight to see different takes on the designs for once

I like the character design of Dr. Jekyll (Fun fact, his name is supposed to be pronounced Jeekyll according to the author, Robert Louis Stevenson). And I did enjoy the direction, would definitely do this if I hired you to direct an animated movie of the musical. I will say however Hyde’s design is disappointing. It looks too much like Jekyll. It would have been nice if you went more the book route and made him seem more like a troglodyte. I feel the definitive Hyde is the one from the 1931 movie. They even had his appearance change subtly over time to capture how no one could consistently describe how Hyde looked.

Media can change over time and everyone who adapts it can choose what they want to keep. I’ll also say that this animatic is an animatic of the MUSICAL where Jekyll and Hyde are played by the same actor and the transformation happens on stage so yes of course they have the same face.

@@CHESShireCat So we’re finally seeing your true colors. You have to care about what the author said regardless of if he’s dead or not, because it’s still his story. I don’t believe you would enjoy having a story you worked rigorously on even when you were sick being unnecessarily changed to suit the whims of “creative” freedom. Also the musical is a musical. It doesn’t have enough of a budget to do the special effects of changing Jekyll’s appearance. Let alone the resources. An animation doesn’t have that restriction and can thus go further. This argument of yours is absurd. Also don’t take the Lord’s name in vain.
