Jell-O, itself, is weird and unexpected. I appreciate the support, thank you!

This was very fun to watch! As a youngster in the 80s, I made and ate a lot of Jell-O: 1-2-3 Jell-O, Jell-O No-Bake Cheesecake, Jell-O Jigglers, and the cups of Jell-O my mom always had in the fridge for an after-school snack. My grandmother made rather delicious dessert out of green Jell-O, Cool Whip, and pureed canned pears.

A true survivor of the era! I actually loved the no-bake cheesecake and the cups. And your grandmother's recipe does sound quite lovely! What flavor was the green Jell-O, lime? Side note, I love how we categorize Jell-O by color and not flavor. Good times! Thanks for the kind words, cheers!

The fruity kind is the only edible kind that I know of-accept no substitutes! Thanks for the kind words, rock on!

I genuinely like Jell-O. I have a very vivid memory of my mom making this wild Jell-O. It was pale pink and tasted sparkly. I'm not entirely sure what she did, maybe raspberry flavor with ginger ale mixed in? Anyway it was delicious. School lunch also had homemade Jell-O cups with a small, uniform dollop of whipped cream. The custom with us kids at the time was to stir it up with a fork until you had a homogeneous mixture. As an adult, I have done a couple of retro food parties with friends. My favorite contribution was a Green Goddess Jell-O mold. Lime Jell-O set with Cool Whip, Granny Smith apples, celery, green mini marshmallows, and green olives. Topped with piped florets of mayonnaise. It was not delicious, but it was a Halloween party and went nicely with the tomato aspic in the shape of a brain 😂 Loved the video! Would love to see more like this (if you want to, obviously!)

Good memories! In all seriousness, Jell-O with whipped cream (or Cool Whip) plus fruit is honestly nice, and your mother's recipe with the ginger ale sounds pretty great! That retro food party Jell-O would have been great, but maybe without the celery, olives and mayonnaise? Well, points for accuracy to whoever brought that!
