Zelda is totally a damsel in distress, though. Sure, she has a bit more agency in that she's holding Ganon back instead of simply being locked in a tower, but saving Zelda and Hyrule are still the two top priorities of the game. It's only window dressing.

Ocarina of time is the single worst main series zelda game. It introduced most of the terrible features that plagued the series until breath of the wild. Navi, z-targeting, low framerate clunkily telegraphed combat based on memorization instead of mechanical skill, rehashing the same items from a link to the past (you could possibly blame a link to the past for that, but the items were fine, it was the rehashing endlessly that was bad), collectathon side quests. One of the worst sins I cannot blame on OOT unfortunately. The original zelda was this open world like Breath of the wild. Zelda 2 was somewhat open but gated a lot of areas off with progression items and spells. This too I hope is finally dead after Breath of the wild.

What do they use now? I haven't played console in forever but back in the day them analog control sticks gave to much. I remember playing GoldenEye getting full body armor and the golden gun but a friend even when surprised just 1 head shot kill ya with the magnum instead. The representation of the goddess was perfect, I freaking hate her. Like, I played the game and she was like 'oh, you've just gone through a really hard challenge that took many amounts of your hearts and almost made you feel like smashing your remote in half! Well fuck you coz you need to do three more of those challenges to only end up with getting one heart container!' And like, with BoTW it was like 'Oh yeah, I’m not gonna tell you the location of the sword you gotta find that yourself' you get to the forest 'oh yeah, you gotta go through that forest that'll send you right back at the start if you do a wrong turn' and you then get to the sword pedestal 'oh yeah, after all of that you still need thirteen hearts for this, which means that you have to do 52 shrines all together, have fun!'😂

So I actually love this but there's one thing I feel I have to say. In Windwaker, you actually get the reasoning of Ganondorf the man. The Gerudo lived in the desert, harsh environment. The Hylians lived in a lush fertile grassland/forested area. His people were suffering so he did what many rulers have done, tried conquering the people their jealous of. Now beast Ganon is just that, a beast and in breath of the wild more of a force of nature, so there's no real rhyme or reason needed. But yeah, still love the video as a whole.

I'd say Twilight Princess Ganondorf must have had a similar reason. We don't get the real reason for why he tried to conquer Hyrule in the first place - but we can assume by the "timeline" it's the same Ganon from Ocarina (as the games have a lot of similarities aesthetically and regarding dungeons). So he wanted to rule because that's kind of his "Destiny" and in the end failed. So this guy is like, chained up, stabbed through the heart and sent to a mythical land he can never get out of. I'd say I'd want to kill some people after that.

When all of Hyrule was flooded with what must have been salty water, clearly the fresh water Zoras were forced to evolve. No, seriousley that is the only explanation that could in some degree make sense. It could also explain the vast difference between the Zoras from oot (lake hylia, so fresh water) and the more fish like things from phantom hourglass (ocean, salty water) or the original tloz.

if that was the case a fish would more likely to adapt to salty water instead of becoming a bird, even if you think of the evolution fish-> amphibious-> quadruped-> bird this is unluckly to happend because of the lack of lands in windweaker. Figured it out yet? Basically, theres these three gods who are like “lets create the earth and this cool artifact and a god to protect it” and the goddess they created reincarnates herself and also chooses some other dude as a hero, who defeats this dude named demise, who wanted the triforce, but demise reincarnates himself as ganondorf. Zelda and link continuously reincarnate, and the same ganondorf always tries to get the triforce and Link and zelda defeat him except for like once. That’s just a simplification, tho. Each game has it’s own story, then there’s the seperate timelines, THEN there’s the Wild universe, which would take 2 hours to explain across just two games, but whatever

Long story short, it's one of the earliest action rpgs series. Generally Legend of Zelda's come in 2 flavors: top down 2D Action RPG and 3D Action RPGs. They're generally solid games that keep a fairly high standard of quality throughout the series, so its hard to go wrong when picking up a Legend of Zelda title (unless you somehow own a Phillip's CDI console, but if you know what that is then you don't need me to explain what LoZ is). Most titles emphasize exploration and collecting tools to solve puzzles and open new paths to explore. Zelda games tend to be fairly light on story elements, but it also doesn't waste your time (for the most part). So yeah, that's about all I got for ya. TL;DR, Legend of Zelda is an action based RPG with heavy emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving.

MConz Yes, and in those two scenes, you can tell what kind of person she is. She was wise to surrender her kingdom rather than try to fight Zant and have people be killed, and she was giving in that she gave Midna some of her life energy, because she knew Midna was needed more in order to fight against Zant. And then there's that beautiful short moment when she asks for the Light Spirits help to lend her the Light Arrows. Sorry for rambling a lot, just a huge fan x v x'
