I plan to get Tartaglia and Kazuha as started in Nov and did get Raiden, Nahida (she has floating dreams) and Xianyun. My question is would Tartaglia, Bennett, Fischl and Kazuha be a good team comp? I have R5 Rust set for Tartaglia as main dps and my Fischl is running Thundering Pulse as sub dps as I've been enjoying physical build for her and then the other 2 supports of course.

Same. I got through so much content after getting him. He was also RIDICULOUSLY easy to build in comparison to almost any other character I got, and the fact that I can self-heal him from the verge of death was great. That, and his character (along with Nahida) is one of my absolute favorites, and because he takes of so much of the damage himself, I can literally put him with any of my other characters that I am in the middle of building/farming friendship with (eg: Sucrose or Layla or Dehya), and it literally does not matter. To be fair, he's C0 so I run grandpa Zhongli with him (or Layla now). That said, am now a bit stuck due to the rumored upcoming banners considering I want both Kazuha and Furina. TT_TT

Tbh if youre minmaxing your account pulling for chacracters with resin efficient domains is so much more important than actual unit strength. For example, if you pull for furina and not pull neuvilette youre wasting all your MH artifact rolls. Pulling for yelan makes you passively be able to build xiangling xinqiu beidou and more so pulling for raiden is a great idea as well. Only nahida i think is an actual must pull as her kit is immune to gameplay powercreep so unless they introduce a super OP dendro character she'll be at the top til the end of the game. My top 5 pulls 1. Nahida 2. Yelan 3. Furina 4. Neuvilette 5. Raiden

So I pulled for Furina and Raiden ! I got Nahida recently too. As a girl, there are not a lot of guy that I would love to play, so I am basically going for girls I love. Raiden was the one I was waiting the most, and now I'm waiting for Clorinde (I hope she's not bad !)

I agree 100% - I'd actually say Neuvillette is #1 for new players who want to be able to plow through all content straight away - overworld, bosses, domains - and have an insane DPS for future Spiral clear - particularly because he can heal himself and it's frustrating as a new player when every fight takes ages and you don't want to waste resources on characters and 3-4* artifacts before AR45. Neuvillette is a one man team that will plow through anything non hydro (but even then I use him on hydro bosses, it just takes longer) and even though he "needs" a shielder, you can avoid it by pulling him back and his skill cooldown is fast enough that if you missed your charge attack, you'll get another one soon. To be able to do that with 1 5* is far more valuable for any player, especially a new one. For me, (started 1 year ago), before Neuvillette, it wasn't until I had Zhongli I could easily plow through every weekly boss - before that I had to use so many diff team comps to compensate but I didn't want to have to build certain characters or spend 10 minutes for each boss - with Zhongli and Neuvillette I can use the exact same team for every weekly boss and plow through them so fast lol so that's something a new player might want to consider I'd say if you want to build two endgame teams at the same time, then Furina and Nahida because you can build one hyperbloom team and one Furina team and just as Nahida will compensate for not having the best options for the rest of the team, Furina will do that for the other team. And both of those units are so flexible (but new players will need to build healer for Furina and potentially a shielder since Nahida is easily knocked around) BUT Barbara is a new player's only option and is not a good enough healer for Furina teams so in that case, I actually think Xianyun is better to get before Nahida particularly because they synergize with each other so well, Xianyun even if not used for plunging has amazing healing and carries VV artifact, so with both of them you can make even a weaker DPS significantly stronger - Dendro is powerful enough that you can get away with dendro MC until next Nahida banner, but Xianyun is both a healer and anemo vv holder so it's like 2 characters in one (she's significantly boosted my Zhongli/Furina/Neuvillette team because she takes the role of Baizu heals and Kazuha VV and puts them into 1 - although I know Kazuha does more but I like having Zhongli for my slight controller lag) But there's only a couple days left for Nahida and Xianyun so it will be months before you can get them again, so I'd say in this case, Furina, Neuvillette and Kazuha are priority Also, It is NOT helpful to tell new players the game is easy so play who you like, because veterans have months worth of artifacts farmed - a selection of decent 4* weapons and multiple cons of good 4* units. It is also not helpful because as a new player with so many characters to choose from, you might like so many that you need another parameter in which to narrow the selection down. New players will level up FAST - I'm already AR45 on my new account and I've only played a month - so my world level jumped faster than I could build characters and its easier for me because I know what to expect, but for an actual new player, leveling faster than you can build characters means that you wan't strong characters now, not the unhelpful advice that any 4* can beat spiral (yeah with a high investment build that takes months/years for cons).

@@loreyxillumina yeah she makes the whole team struggle if the healer is not strong enough, especially against hard hitting bosses. Most healers can work with a bit more effort, but the only guaranteed healer is Barbara and she's not great. Xianyun, Baizhu, Jean are best, then charlotte on Proto Amber and then most other healers can work even if not ideal Furina is just such a huge sub dps that can boost a ton of teams, and her auto targeting is awesome for AOE (not so great when every bonfire in overworld is attacked and drains hp though lol) that I still think she's worth getting even if you don't have the best healer at first - but the healing issue is important to consider!

I really enjoyed this video, but not just for the headline content. As someone who is about six months into Genshin, your discussion about how new players should have so many wishes during their first year of play really made me think about how important it is to actually do all the world quests and exploration to get those permanent primogems. I always thought about them as something I can get to "eventually" without realizing the cost of that way of thinking: you end up being forced to skip banners that you really shouldn't skip.

For the most part the same small group of 5 stars are promoted by content creators time and time again understandably, because they are the best. But he's not a must pull. His kit is old and weak just like most older characters. By that i meant that he doesn't have fast big off field damage,bc his pillers are so slow and have little aoe. He's only good as a shield bot and that's it. I don't like how hoyoverse did Venti and Zhongli so dirty. For now we'll just have to wait till they update their old kits and other old characters kits too. Bc hoyoverse is too damn prideful and greedy to even fix their old lazy work. And y'all better not say that I'm asking for too much,when I'm legit just asking for the bare minimum. Cause i can already see someone screaming at me abt how "OVERPOWERED" the old characters will become💀 Like everything still depends on artifacts luck and teams tf. Even after getting your most wanted character, you'll still be on the grind and suffering to get the best artifacts for them. Which is hella unfair after all the hard work you've done farming primogems and now you're gonna be farming artifacts everyday to get better/decent ones. It's ridiculous that we can't pick an artifact main stat and at least 2 substats that we need. I think its important to add that alot of META discussions will lead you to believe that certain characters are "powercrept" and you shouldn't really bother with them. I'm talking chars like Ayaka, Hu Tao, Raiden Shogun, Cyno, etc. For example, outside of stuff like Raiden as a hyperbloom trigger, she is definitely plenty strong to be used an on-field DPS. They may not be "the best" but they are perfectly viable. Hell, I've 36* the abyss with Diluc and Ayaka thanks to Xianyun and Furina empowering them, you don't *need* to use hyperbloom or Neuvilette if you don't like those playstyles.

WARNING if you've never played before and just purely want to easily clear abyss, i highly recommend getting nahida and neuvilette. You will never have to sweat again. Alot of these other 5 stars you have to do proper rotations, build them DECENTLY as in 60-70 crit rate and 140 crit dmg which is hard to get for new players (6 months in). Even characters like raiden shogun you will have to sweat and have a hard time clearing abyss with. So if you want to have a fun happy no sweat or pulling your hair out time, then i highly recommend neuvilette and nahida. DISCLAIMER❗️: This is not for players who have player more than 6-8 months who have no trouble clearing abyss with their goated artifacts, c1 5 star charactere or r1 5 star limited banner weapons. Or those who are insanely sweaty and do rotations perfectly. This is for the newbie trash player who cannot clear abyss no matter what and just wanna get the most op easy to play characters.

I am late to this and I know you are restricting to 7 to fit the primo math, but Zhongli is a must. If you play on a phone, it takes SERIOUS skill to not get destroyed. As a 1.0 player, I am not very good but I have brute forced my account to be pretty cracked and Zhongli is my 100% overworld and abyss character. He makes it so you dont need nearly as much skill.

I think you also want to make sure you have one more defensive option aside from Bennett+Xingqiu in case the Abyss is very aggressive on both sides like the rifthounds, Hydro Tulpa, or Fatui operatives. If you “chose two” with poor defense like Yelan, Hu Tao and the abyss was aggressive: Side 1 is fine with Bennet, Xingqiu, Yelan or Hu Tao However side 2 would be trouble, since you’d have Furina in healer mode or Prototype Amber. You could build Barbara or Noelle who are guaranteed, but they were not in that list.

I started Genshin around 3.1 update. These were the characters I pulled in order and used to 36 star the abyss for the first time. Nahida, Keqing, Wanderer, Raiden, Xiao, Nilou, Kazuha, and Klee. Nilou bloom really carried my team. I also used Klee hyperburgeon, Klee mono pyro, and Raiden Aggravate. Nahida, Kazuha, and Raiden were the characters I used the most!

This is basically exactly the list I would give to anyone trying to maximize their initial investments/roster, so I would say you did a good job :) My alt account I started in 4.0 is quite literally following this rubric completely (Yelan->Furina->Raiden->Nahida->planned Kazuha) with the only built four stars being the ones listed (and Charlotte for Furina heals) and was able to full clear abyss within three patches.

Furina isn’t a must pull if you don’t have a team wide healer. Furina sure provides bigger buffs than Yelan but Yelan should be a must pull. Best team wide healers are Jean(can't guarantee), Charlotte(can't guarantee), Baizhu(Spend wishes), Xianyun(Spend wishes) Whereas Yelan Doesn't need healers to function.

I agree with most of this list. I think kokomi deserves to be in choose 2. I picked her up on her first banner and never had any regret. Mine is now C2 with moonglow and I use her with nahida, raiden, and Xingqiu. Her driving capabilities are so good I think she deserves more credit. she's my tank, healer, and driver that got me to easily 36 star abyss.

Extremely concise and accurate list with very good advice. I would personally put Al Haitham below Hu Tao and maybe even Nilou, just because Dendro traveler is unironically pretty strong and a very good substitute for many teams and I would add Succrose in the "Probably build if you get them" section. I can't really say I agree or disagree with Chevreuse, because I don't have the character or actually looked at indepth math / footage of how good she is, from my initial thoughts and comparing of who you would play her over in teams that she would fit in and superficially comparing the numbers that she and the characters that she replaces would provide, I found that she wouldn't really be an upgrade in any team or case except for maybe fighting the Hydro Tulpa in abyss when you can't swirl pyro for vape, so I am not sure about her "worth in the meta" (before Arle and Clorinde). But except for that I 100% agree with this list as a day-one player. Can only recommend new players to follow this advice if they are looking for a future proof account that can clear 36* with ease.

I have most of the characters shown, but Lyney is still my favourite when he first came, I had no idea of his attacks, I had a guarantee and pulled him, I loved him and was pleasantly surprised, for me him and arrlechino are the best pyro characters, sorry hu tao- Lyney was such a game changer for my account. And he is the character I would suggest for everyone, and to anyone who likes bow users such as myself.

Besides that though, weapons take longer (on avg) than cons. 90-180 wishes to guarantee a con, 240 to guarantee a weapon.

​@simon_roy While it a bigger increase, it is hard to understate the teams you get access to with c1. It also increases his synergy with Furina and you can guarantee it with minimal cost compared to the weapon. I would always recommend his c1 over Tome if his weapon banner looks stinky.

I think the great thing about Navia is thet how cheap her teams are. You can just use Xiangling (free unit and shop), Bennet (shop) and GMC (only agains bosses) or Ninguang (shop and lantern rite) and you can just go to the Abyss. Even this is flexible because if you don't have C4 Xiangling you can use Fischl or even Xingqiu as well. In reality I think she is one of the most beginner friendly on-field damage dealer in the game, maybe even more then Neuvilette, though Neuvilette so good on the base line thet even with a joke team he will be extremly good. It would be interesting to talk about how it is different with other 5*. Like, we know as example thet Xiao and Cyno is very pricey charatcers, but I would like to see how different 5* different in this point.

As a side note, ppl should be careful to not choose too many units that want off-field pyro, because as it stands there's no real way to replace Xiangling-Bennett or break them apart (Bennett can fly solo but Xiangling is kinda painful to use without Bennett). If you need more Hydro, there's plenty of options. Off-field Cryo is pretty abundant too. Dendro kinda hamstrung because Nahida is just so good, but you can get away with lower dendro app on Aggravate teams for example. But there's no other real off-field Pyro outside of Xiangling+Bennett :(

Nice the list is bang on. This is my plan aswell, get nahida furina kazuha as cores, xianyun is also a core but lower priority (I'd put her above neuvi). Then I can pull for whoever tf I want which is the most important thing. I also agree with the must builds, they offer a lot of additional flexibility.

7 5* characters in a year and 3-4 of them will be standard banners, not limited. "you're probably not going to lose every 5050" ho boy. as someone who started in Jan 2021, i lost every 5050 until Aug 2022 when i wished on Tighnari's banner. literally lost 9 in a row. xDD AlHaitham and Neuvillette have definitely been solid additions to my account! i mostly pull for who I like and most of them are hypercarries, so to have characters that are a bit more flexible has been great!

Ayaka is actually pretty good to way of putting her in the “Choose 2” Lier; because she now don’t needs Shenhe, and Kokimi; anymore; because of the Charlotte, and Furina; comp. Like if you gave her the Finale Deep R5, and and Charlotte with TTDS; ER Sands, and fav on Kazuha, and Furina; results Ayaka; to be actually so good! The one character I REALLY want is Kuki, but damn being a standard banner 4 star just makes it to where I have no clue how long it will take me to get her 😭. Tighnari is the GOAT though lol

Personally i would put zhongli in the must pull/choose to, been with him in my account since his first rerun and he makes the game completely different, best shielder, buffer with milelith, and a 3 star best-in-slot weapon. He changed the way i play the game and for new players, will make the playthrough waaay more confortable

I'll say this again, but know your teams and who you wanna main first BEFORE getting Kazuha. I was convinced I needed him cuz of how top tier he was heralded but I main Xiao hypercarry and Alhaitham quickbloom. Literally never use Kazuha so it was a wasted pull and months of saving because everywhere you look people say he's a must. Don't get me wrong, he's amazing at what he does, but just be sure he's actually what you need for your teams.

Solid list. I still routinely clear the Abyss with (1) Raiden National (Raiden, Bennett, Xiangling, and Xingqiu) and (2) Alhaitham quick bloom (Alhaitham, Nahida, Furina/Yelan, and Kuki Shinobu). No surprise these characters are all on the list, because they're all solid, and they're my go-to teams. PS - Even though he's probably my favorite character Kazuha has not found his way onto my floor 12 teams lately. It's basically because floor 12 doesn't need a ton of grouping (half the floors are just bosses) and the other half, hyperbloom is homing missile, so grouping isn't strictly required. That being said, I still cannot recommend Kazuha enough to anyone. He's just too good for grouping and buffing. He basically is Venti + Sucrose, so don't go listening to people who are like "you don't need Kazuha if you have Sucrose or Venti" because it's not true. The opposite is true: you don't need Sucrose or Venti if you have Kazuha. PPS - If Kazuha was the tall man character type (aka the husbando), like Tartaglia or Alhaitham, he would be my favorite character.

Got to say this is a very good video for newer players. I have all of these recommended units except Neuvillette and Hu Tao, but I can attest to the incredible flexibility and strength of the others. If you’re going to go beyond F2P and want to vertically invest, my choice would be constellations for Nahida and Furina first, then signature weapons for your chosen DPSs. Great video 👍

I’d include a Cryo character in “Choose 2” to make it more balanced. I’d take out Chevreuse, Xianyun and Nilou. Probably Lyney too. They’re niche characters. Some of them also cater to very specific playstyles. Based on the goal of your video, I would not recommend characters whose full potential are restricted in certain team comps or too specific playstyles. Niche characters are sort of an antithesis to the intention of this video. But that’s just my opinion.

This is a very helpful video. One of the best ones in my opinion. But I wouldn’t put Xianyun and Lyney in the Choose 2 category. Probably will remove Chevy too in the Probably Build section. They’re more niche than not. If I had Raiden & Chevreuse, you can’t tell me that Raiden is less useful and reliable than Chevreuse. There’s just no way. Even Zhongli or Baizhu are more valuable units than Chevreuse. I’d include instead somewhere in that list: Raiden, Ayaka, Zhongli, Kokomi, Baizhu. Versatility & flexibility are important for proofing one’s roster. A niche approach kinda counters what proofing one’s account intends to accomplish.

Instead of getting Nahida, I wished for Xianyun. I got Xiao when he came out, and then I stopped playing the game. I went back in December with a lot to explore (final quests in Liyue, Inazuma, and so on). I wished for Ayaka since I didn't have a Cryo 5*, then I tried to wish for Navia and got a Qiqi (rip). Then I farmed like crazy to get Raiden, got her, and decided to get her weapon (and I got it in 30 wishes, maybe an old pity from early 2021). So far, I've lost every single 50/50. In the case of Nahida, I got Diluc, and then 40 wishes later, I ironically clicked on the Xianyun banner and got her. I'm happy though; she's so fun to explore the world with. I have Jean, Albedo, Xiao, Keqing, Ayaka, Raiden, Qiqi, Diluc, and Xianyun. Since I'm an old player (1.0), I have all the important old 4* (but none fully constellationed). Back in the day, it was harder than people realize to get wishes; once you explored every corner of Liyue and Monstand, there was not much you could do to get primogems, so 6C is not that easy of a thing to do.

all you need is to just have fun. if you try to min max you wont have a fun time. just chill and explore as a new player. too many content creators will have you think that if your team doesnt nuke enemies they are bad. many of the memed on characters are also nowhere near as bad as they say they are. for exmple i would say raiden and zhongli are the biggest must pulls as they keep you safe and fix any energy recharge problems you have. they are AMAZING supports that provide great QoL effects to combat.

Having started in October and almost entirely f2p I feel I've had near-perfect wish investment! Furina was my first 5*, I built pity on Ayato's banner to get Kuki, then got Raiden and now Nahida. This allowed met o get 32/36 stars in the abyss so far All I'm waiting for is Kazuha and Yelan to rerun. Hope you do another banner prediction video, your last one was hilariously accurate.
