Jellyfish are so awesome! Especially when they glow ! One summer night on the coast of South Carolina, 7 or 8 of us went for a late night in the ocean. The moon was up and the water was warm. We had to wade far out past the breakers as it was low tide. After a few minutes we started getting stung…all of us. It was a swarm of jelly fish. And they ended our skinny dipping adventure!!😂

I grew up next to the ocean on the east coast. Never ran into these jellyfish before. But I have been stung by others. But if I didn't want to get stung, I would bring my brother with me because they LOVED him for whatever reason! When we would go to the beach, my parents would ask around about jellyfish and sharks. And even though everyone would say no, the second my brother got into the ocean, he would ALWAYS get stung! I don't remember a trip to the beach without him getting stung! Important Note: Box Jelly Fish are (I think) the most common jelly fish sting at the beach? And, applying Sting Kill will probably make it worse as other Topical Ointments with menthol do. Vinegar seems to be the Go-To method along with Heat to get the tiny Nematocysts out. When stung by a Box Jellyfish, assuming you can ignore the immediate gut wrenching pain, try to remain as calm as possible. Box Jellies are nearly invisible, as are their Tendrils, and are incredibly long as well, so there's a very good chance that if you get stung by one it's near the middle of the tendril. So, if you quickly flail and try to swim away, you'll get stung more. The sting can leave Whip-Shaped scar's as well and often times what makes it deadly is just the sheer amount of it you come in contact with.
