I was a kid back in 1990 and I don't know how but I got my hands on a copy of bellybutton and, even though I loved Nirvana and hard rock and punk, that album really made an impression on me. I kind of forgot about it but about a week ago found it on CD in a dollar bin, and I remember every single song, all the words... Every single song is amazing and so catchy. What a great band. Thank you, Jellyfish!

i remember watching this as a kid because I read a People magazine review comparing Spilt Milk to Queen. I recorded it with a hand-held cassette recorder and used to play it in my dad's car all the time, which drove him crazy. Then I got the album and my life was changed.
@amipro3805 жыл бұрын
I remember reading another review of Spilt Milk where other comparisons were made: Queen, Beatles, Beach Boys, The Four Freshman, and Dan Fogelberg( most likely his thick and beautiful orchestrations, arrangementents, and storytelling. I think Big Star was even thrown in there or The Association.

Andy casually standing and playing immaculate drums while singing 😂😆 what a damn shame they can’t reunite for another shot. This band was so fucking great on every level. Then Grunge hit the scene and just killed it for them. It's a pity people then didn't grasp that not every god damn piece of music had to sound like Nirvana.
@taylorh44802 жыл бұрын
calm down bro, they didn’t break up because of grunge they broke up because they hated each other and couldn’t get on the same page during the sessions for the third album. When you have three extremely talented songwriters in a band who are also all lead vocalist it’s really hard to not want your idea to be the idea that gets recorded… That’s why Jason and Roger and Andy and Jon Brion (Who joined the band after “Spilt Milk”) all decided to just go solo instead
