It seemed only fitting during the quarantine that I would perform some of my favorite songs to help y'all get through these times. Our first installment features a medley of 'Only' and 'Love The Heartless'. The boys and I played these things live without a click track and I hope y'all enjoy the change up. I've always felt making music was very therapeutic for me, and I hope someone who needs this hears it.
We filmed these at the Amber Sound in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a sucker for a vibe in music - that feeling when a sound completely shifts the mood of a room. This vibe was more like an indie rock house show than a studio, which left me feeling inspired. Let me know what y'all think in the comments below.

Recently, I met a wonderful lady, addicted, homeless, really down and out. I gave her a chance and she is currently living in my home, trying to rebuild and do better. Sometimes people need a chance, an opportunity. Addiction kills, but kindness and patience save. Always remember they are our brothers and sisters, and while she is learning a new way forward, she has also taught me alot. Thank you Jelly Roll for giving our fellow people hope and a voice. Keep up all you do, you truly are helping more people then you know, including giving new perspectives to people like myself who have never lived that life. Update: Just want to thank everyone for their support and kind words. I thought long and hard before committing to the choices I have made. That said, I don't regret the decisions I have made. There is no doubt that things haven't been easy, but I see the progress first hand every day. That, to me, outweighs all the issues that have come along. I can't emphasize how proud I am of her each and every day. To anyone thinking of helping as I have, you have to go about it no strings attached, prepared for issues, willing to stay committed through the hiccups along the way. It's not meant to scare people away from helping, but if you make the commitment, you have to understand they are also trusting in you and outside their comfort zone as well. She's doing great and has gained enough to look healthy, exceeding all expectations I have had. I'll reply again in the future but to anyone struggling, remember it's day by day, and people do care.

I found Jelly Roll about 10 months ago, quite by accident, on KZbin. I have never heard anyone who can put into words, exactly how I have felt for most of my 53 years. I have always felt ashamed of what is down deep in my soul, because the church seems to be uninterested in the pain. It’s always “give it to God,” and it will all be ok. For the first time, I no longer feel like I am not good enough for anyone, especially God. Jelly Roll has brought me so far from where I used to be. Unhappy, sad, suicidal, worthless. I am in therapy and she has helped me understand why I am drawn to his music. The exact words do not apply to me, but what it means is everything. We have taken the lyrics and gone through them to really help me work through the feelings of unworthiness, anger, brokenness, fear, rejection. And it has given me a clarity and acceptance of these feelings and no longer being ashamed of my story. People may not believe God can use this music to heal those He loves, but I am convinced Jelly Roll is living his purpose by helping broken people heal. Thank you Jelly Roll and Struggle Jennings.

He’s said in many different ways that he understands what that is simply because it’s what he was for so long…and is just now starting to see that’s not where he has to be forever. Just like you. And me. And I’d imagine most, if not all, of those who connect with his lyrics/music. He didn’t name one of his albums Ballads of the Broken for no reason ya know? He calls it therapeutic music also for a reason. I wish you all the best and I hope that you continue to fight the demon that tells you that you aren’t good enough. I was on the very edge of pushing the self destruct button this morning after a relapse this past week. I almost walked away from everything I have destroyed through my addiction. I asked the universe for an answer, and out of nowhere a job offer with living arrangements lands in my lap from the guy who played "If these tears vould talk". Coming up on 28 years clean from anything I could find, drug of choice? Heroin…. I used for 24 years, now 67 yrs old female. What I like most about Jelly Roll is the woman that stands beside him, offering the tip of her shoe when he spoke to a congressional committee… My second favorite thing about him is that he sings my story… I remember the TV series breaking bad ( aside from killing folks it is my story ) my nick name is BB Heisenberg. My husband has a severe TBI, just lost part of his skull for a second time. I haven't been okay since. 4+ Years fighting the TBI to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel only to be kicked back down again. My sister has been an addict for over 30 years, any drug, alcohol, lost a leg, on and on it goes. I’m a corrections officer x 16 years. I also see the pain, anguish, feelings of worthlessness in those where I work. So much pain, not knowing any other life. My heart breaks for so many when I see them come back through that revolving door called prison over and over again. Your songs describe them so well. I thank God I haven’t become jaded, angry, uncaring in all the years I’ve done this. Granted, some are straight up scary, evil assholes, but the majority, nah, never had a prayer from day one. Hey 3 years clean bro! Keep it up! I ruined my life selling every drug you can think of. Then I started using my body as a pin Cushin 📌 and I screwed up my brain from overdoses of adrenalin and cotton fever so many times. I used to be really smart....not funny but kinda the reason I was a great drug dealer and respected by my buyers for so many years. Got busted one time. 15 cops supported me at a jack in the box. Whole street shut down and when I got out. I got a crazy smart attorney and used for a while still and quit on my own. Detectives and private investigators following and harassing me waiting for me to fuck up. Here I am! Not where I want to be but not anywhere I used to be and I'm blessed and worked hard. It took me an insanely long time to come to the realization that there's more important things in life than that high and that none of it could enter my life while i was hooked on those tiny pills. So much wreckage caused by those tiny little pills so small that a pea was bigger.
