I was both for a multi-million e-commerce company. Ended up getting fired due to CEO's ignorance. Been years now. The company went no where afterwards. Edit: By CEO ignorance, I mean they made a decision to switch platforms. I was very clear that it wouldn't work for our operation. They moved ahead anyway. Spent hundreds of thousands to migrate. A year later, it was clear to all I was correct. Also was one point where CEO didn't want to implement PayPal as another payment option. I did it anyway. She got upset with me over it. That's until we did over $500k in PayPal transactions over the next few weeks. I hear she hasn't progressed much since; I myself remain successful.

Great video 🙀. I have a question, what kind of soft skills should a CTO have?
@Jelvix2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the good question 😉. We have highlighted some important skills in our opinion. CTOs usually work with teams, respectively often communicate with employees and motivate them, so it is important to have good communication and leadership skills. One of the biggest responsibilities of a CTO is to make important decisions, so it is important to have a strategic mindset and an understanding of responsibility. Also, I can't help but mention time management, because it's significant for a director to keep track of deadlines and tasks.

I have been following your channel for a very long time. After watching your video, I had a question: does the CIO report to the CTO?
@Jelvix2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question 🤓👇🏻 Occasionally the CTO is recruited at the same level as the CIO. In other cases, he or she is employed by and reports to the CIO. In either case, the CTO is expected to handle the long-term development of the information technology infrastructure and often oversee computers and networks.

Honestly, not a clear explanation between the two roles. It brushes the surface but doesn't go into enough detail to help differentiate the two, IMO. At the end of the video, I felt like it described the same person.

This is totally wrong. In all of the organizations I know, the cto is the highest ranked person
@Jelvix2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. In most cases, it is the CIO who oversees internal IT and its strategic value to the business, while the CTO oversees the development of new technologies and creates policies and procedures that use technology to improve products and services to customers. And it's worth noting that the CEO, is the firm's top official. CEOs act as the public face of the company and make important corporate decisions. Therefore, both the CIO and the СTO are under their authority.

@@jeremydone1982 dude you are clueless. A CIO outranks a CTO every time. Where do YOU get your BS info??? You must be new to IT 😂😂😂

@@jeremydone1982 I’ve worked in IT for 14 years and what he describes is exactly how my organization is. We only recently added a CTO in the past few years, but this is exactly how they describe it
