i don't think you understand how much i needed this. i've been on break and I've realized that breaks are the worst for me because i have nothing to do and just am alone with my thoughts, and then I go through a downward spiral of toxic/negative thoughts and just ruins my break.
@m.ily.n3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for making this video, it was perfect timing for me. Yesterday just wasn’t my day and I broke down because nothing was going right. I had never felt so upset towards myself. I felt like everything in my life was going out of control and I couldn’t do anything about it. Before I fell asleep, I kept telling myself that “There will be a better tomorrow”. I fell asleep and I swear I said it about 20 times. Best part was that it worked! Today was a better day. So to those that feel that today isn’t their day, know that it’s okay. It’s okay to cry about it and to feel what you feel. Tell yourself that you are okay, you did your best, you did what you could, and that there will be a better tomorrow 🤍🕊

i like how you're giving the perspective of someone who feels "stuck" in an overthinking mindset. most advice vids tell us to slow down and not be so busy but i have the opposite problem and sometimes feel even worse. also love the fictional role model tip ive never heard of it sinc we're usually advised to pick someone in real life!

My fictional role model is Sophie Foster from Keeper of the Lost Cities series :D It's probably a pretty childish book for most of the people watching this podcast since I'm 13 but I really love how she's always persevering and how much she values friendships.

i pushed myself so hard and when summer came, i diddnt even get the satifaction i yearned and my first week of summer, wxhaustion and slight sickness hit. it wasnt a quick fix i thought, and thats why i realized i needed videos about this. you really do have to tackle problems at the root. a tree is helped by weeding, but if you dont tackle the rot, itll fall either way.

I've really been appreciating your videos as a student during the pandemic. Especially as I've had family issues that further contributed to pre-existing mental health issues that's made everything that I identify with (mainly, but not limited to, education-related motivation and perfect grades) slip in some capacity. I don't know, I haven't been reaching my pre-pandemic, pre-familial-issues standards and it's been really messing me up. Your calm demeanor has really helped me stop catastrophizing and prioritize my mental health. I don't know, your content has really helped me gain some perspective and stop spiraling about a future that's still very much secure despite the perceived "imperfections" I feel I've displayed throughout quarantine. thank you so much for that. stay safe and healthy

You're so soothing and calming. Thanks for the help! My fictional character that comes to mind is Eddie Munson from Stranger Things!! I love his fierce, passionate spirit, his playfulness, his lack of shame in saying how he feels, showing his sweetness and vulnerability despite his rough exterior, his bravery and his self awareness as he learns about himself. His devotion to his friends/his willingness to do what's right and have an adventure! Also, of course, that he is a rockstar type and I have dreams of being a rock star too, haha

4:56 I actually took a break from Facebook except I still use KZbin😂 but I’m really glad I did it. It definitely refreshed my mind about things that I usually do ;I’m able to focus more on my studies and my health and all of that instead of procrastinating and scrolling through Facebook while studying on zoom or when I’m writing my lesson.

I have been so harsh on myself from a month and actually I was not gaining anything instead of stress and anxiety , my migrain was getting worser and worser . Today I talked to my mom and she told me to be just easy , she asked me to start exercising , limit my work on my to - do list like don't just plan 14 hour study when you are not going to do it and just stressing on not completing it instead make a 8 hour study schedule and in the spare time go on a walk , exercise , watch a series , make some frnds , go to market , enjoy your life and don't put pressure on yourself . Like if you thing that your work is gonna take 3 hours mark it as a 5 hour work on to- do list , bcz eventually you are going to do complete it in 4 hours but you will be immensed with the results and plan you whole week plan in future but don't just overdo it . And the most important thing just be happy and enjoy yourself Ps - hope it helps

im the type of subscriber who watches the best youtube video for the last and this definitely is a lovely video to end the night with . I love ur videos, and I super love your voice and the wisdom that you share. I also purchased the book u recommended, the 101 essays and im really thankful that I purchased it because its a very wholesome book even if I just read though it like a couple of times because i want to take it lightly for now . U mentioned about fictional role models, mine is Ben from The intern. I really love the values he has shown in that movie and apart from that he's practically one of the best role models for me that had inspired me. I enjoyed this video a lot, ur voice and shared ideas definitely helps me right now and I can't wait to hear from your podcasts and more videos to come✨. LOVE LOTS 💕

Wow, Jem. I really needed this video. Definitely have been feeling harsh on myself lately. But I love your message about us being overly critical our ourselves of things that other people don't even notice. It's so easy to get consumed in that negative snowball thinking. I also agree that it can depend on the social media content we're consuming. I find that doing activities I love (my hobbies) helps tremendously in bringing presence instead of getting into that negative trail of thoughts. Beautiful video :)

I think for me, which I think would work for people who are being hard on themselves cause it worked for me is to do things from love not for love. That’s why people who are being hard on themselves are overthinking and overthinking and are afraid of what people might think. Like who cares ?? If you love what you’re doing then who cares fr ??
