We call our cheesy potatoes, party potatoes. And we also add a layer to top that is a mixture of cheese, melted butter and corn flakes. Once it bakes in the oven, it comes out so crispy and delicious. And I agree, the leftovers taste even better!

I made some pantry spaghetti yesterday! ground turkey and minced carrots from the freezer, leftover white and red onion, garlic, a few leftover cherry tomatoes, and a can of diced tomatoes and a can of premade sauce from the pantry. it turned out really good. I forgot to add a zucchini and yellow squash from the fridge but just gonna roast that up tonight to have with leftover spaghetti 😁

You can add a package of taco seasoning, a block of cream cheese, a can of refried beans and shredded cheese to a bowl mix everything together then bake until everything its heated though and melted then serve with chips. It's called Texas trash dip.

I grew up on a farm and we grew and put up a lot of corn. We had a gadget that was almost like a mandoline, but it was concave and it shaved off the kernels straight into the dish below it. I realize that is pretty much a one use thing, but, if you do corn frequently, it would definitely be worth it. I will see if I can find a link online.

I really like to have kielbasa with mustard too but try dipping it in mustard then in bbq. It's not the same if you mix the sauces in a dish but put them next to each other if that makes sense. 😁

Everything looked delicious Jen. We smoked a brisket for the first time on Sunday. It was a full brisket for just the 2 of us. It was ok but we could definitely work on it before we try another. I think it will be fine sliced on my slicer for sandwiches and street tacos.
@wildshadowstar4 жыл бұрын
If you don’t like large chunks of onion in some recipes but still want them to flavor the food, have you tried using a food processor to finely dice them? I have a small food processor that I use for such things, a then like quarter my onion in order to fit it in my food processor. I do this sometimes when I make potato or egg salad. Also, for freshly shredded cheese tasting better than the pre shredded kind, in case you were unaware, the pre shredded bagged stuff is coated in potato starch as an anti clumping measure.
@Jen-Chapin4 жыл бұрын
I think I’ve tried that with the onions before, I’ve also used dried minced onion a lot :)

Hi, i saw you with the corn and my trick is using the angel food pan to cut the corn off the cob, it already has the hole for the corn and then the kernels fall down in the pan :)

Hi Jen! I absolutely LOVED this video! Thanks so much for showing me your recipe for potato soup. It is very cold where I'm living at the moment, so potato soup is certainly something I need to make soon. You should try top your potato soup with some croutons next time. It's super delicious if you've never done it before! They add a great crunch and it goes very well with the creamy soup. I'm not sure why, but I find soup is so much more tempting when it is topped with croutons. I hope Conner had a brilliant birthday. He's such a special boy. His heart is so kind and loving, I can't get enough of his humour too, :) Please take care and lots of love to you and your family, xx

Hey, we're almost neighbors. I'm in southwestern Wisconsin so I know the meat and potatoes deal. That's what I was brought up on and that's what I generally cook for dinner. I love to cook but I hate trying to figure out what to make. It seems like I fall into the same old things all the time. My husband is no help deciding what to make because he loves whatever I cook. LOL. Your potato soup looks so warm and comforting. I'd eat that all year. We love cheesy potatoes! Sometimes if I want more crunch I will crush corn flakes, toss them with a little butter, then put them on top of the potatoes with about 10 minutes to go. They get nice and golden brown and are so tasty. Thanks for more great food, Jen!!!
