I'm back w part 2 of my music room makeover series! In the last video I made over the more bedroom side of the room and now I'm tackling the office area and giving my desk a huge makeover including making a diy desk from scratch, decorating the walls, and bumping into many a fiasco

I went through the exact same struggle a few years ago when I was looking for a desk! I also ended up buying a countertop from ikea and drilling legs into it. I love how yours turned out and excited for you to be able to work in this gorgeous new room!! :)

We ordered some hairpin legs off of amazon and bought a plain, solid wood door from home depot! It made for an amazing desk and it can be stained or painted any color you'd like. The legs come in a dark, charcoal color but they can be spray painted too :)

Your dad is soo nice 🥺 The fact that he tried lifting and carrying that countertop by himself so you would not have lift something heavy, and the fact that he was able to do so for even a few seconds says so much. Adrenaline kicked in and he was willing to sacrifice his back and pretend he could manage just for you. Also how fun you can do a project together. What a great dad

For the desk quandary - IKEA sells kitchen counters and I used that to make a massive desk with the Alex drawers! It’s relatively inexpensive and very customizable

Instructions: don't try to pick up the countertop yourself, it needs more support in the middle, might be wobbly, drilling into brick is kinda dangerous, don't do this, don't do that, don't, no Asian dad-daughter duo: huh? I love them xD

For a long desk like that you can also buy nice plywood from a hardware store and they will cut it down for you, then get the legs to attach from there

I think you could have painted some of the wood white and left the brick how it was. Also hang the light brackets from the ceiling and then drop the lights down I think it would add height and depth and you can get U shaped nails to hide the cord in the corner of the wood wall and brick. Overall amazing job i loveee the vibes

THE DESK WAS MY FAVORITE. Desks here in my country are usually 120cm which is insufficient for my daily needs. Also, the retro feels! Your room suddenly felt like a cafe 💖 I was a bit skeptical when you did not paint the walls white but then at the end of this video, I’m more satisfied that you did not paint it 🤣 we could only knew the right decision when its done!
