Candelilla wax is plant-based and you also use less of it because it is heavier. Carnauba wax is from the Brazilian Palm trees.

Petroleum jelly may create the illusion of hydrated, moist skin, but it's actually suffocating your pores. Lip balm and lipstick r completely different lip balm helps make ur lips more mosturized while on the other hand lipstick just makes ur lips colored but drys them out

Anyone wanting animal-friendly waxes here is 4 options I found. I saw some comments below. Candelilla wax is plant-based and you also use less of it because it is heavier. Carnauba wax is from the Brazilian Palm trees. Myrica fruit wax is obtained from bayberries. Rice bran wax has a nice non-sticky skin feel in emulsions, balms, and butters. One of its specific applications is in lipsticks.

I don't really get the point in this, commercial tinted lip balm can have more benefits, are better formulated and don't cost that much. I don't really like Baby Lips personally, that stuff wasn't as moisturising as its "slipperiness" makes it seem to be, but there are so many options out there. I don't think any of your ingredients would actually help moisturising lips as they are. And vanilla extract? Really? I haven't thought about that, but there is vanilla essential oil. People often use essential oils in DIY cosmetics.

idk about you but the original baby lips makes my lips dry after a few minutes and I heard the company did it on purpose so that you would use it more :/ it feels soft at first then dries your lips out. Although this looks like it will be more moisturizing :) Thanks for the DIY

Just a heads up for anyone doing this or future videos, someone else pointed out in their lip balm video I watched that extracts and dyes we use in the kitchen are water soluble and don't mix with the oils and wax. I was disappointed to learn this, as I was thinking like you were here, just use a bit of a flavor you like. I guess most lip balm has oils for smell, not flavor, only giving a hint... but then I want someone to explain all those lip smackers, are they really just scented and our body projects a flavor that's not really there, or do they use something most lip balm manufacturers don't?

If you add the vanilla when slightly cool it wouldn't burn and crystallize. Just something I learned when cooking with gramdma. Great vid!

we can actually use vaseline mix it with vanilla extract and food dye if you want or just use vaseline vanilla extract and color pencil but just cut i bit of the color off. i like your DIY jen hope to make some more
