People forget or don't know that the "Traditional" or "Modern" weddings were really a thing until the 1800's. Before then it was small event that was held between God, the pastor, the couple, and their immediate family.

@@ashtonclark4039 it wasn't a Traditional wedding. During this time, men and women were separated. The partying was done by the men while the women were preparing the bride for the wedding night. Yes they did "party" but it was a mild and more tamed. This is how Jacob was tricked into Leah becoming his wife 1st. This is where consummation of marriage came about.

The Lord blessed us with two beautiful children who are now 26 and 23. We will have our 29th wedding anniversary next year.

Laura the actual marriage part of a wedding should be the focus and highlight. What you wear is your choice, it is about how you feel and your intentions not what you wear. Ok. So God has just chastened me through your video. I had a simple wedding, but I would have liked a fuss! You have demonstrated what matters. I have been happily married for 35 years. We both came to accept Jesus when we had been married 4 years. He blessed us a year later with our first child. So, I didnt have a fuss, but God had his hand on us. Glory to God. X

I elote two Las Vegas at 3:00 in the morning and got married and brought our best friends with us to stand by us. It was so much fun. I think we spent about $100 all total on our wedding 38 years ago. I think it your wedding you were a really pretty blue shirt with a khaki skirt. That's what I remember. You're a cute couple. Bruderhof weddings sound lovely but as someone who loves to plan things, I could never. I’ve been so looking forward to planning my wedding someday. I’m not even dating anyone and already started planning because it’s fun. And it will make it easier in the future because I just present my future husband with my plans and then he can give his input and we can make the necessary changes and it will be good to go. I just love planning things so much. I even considered becoming a wedding planner but decided I would probably just get jealous of all the beautiful weddings so decided an urban planner is a better career path. I would just get so sad if someone else got to plan my wedding and I couldn’t plan it myself.

While I personally imagine a more festive setting for my wedding I definitely subscribe to the four Fs being the most important aspect of any wedding faith, family&friends and food (maybe also music but that doesn't start with an F)😅After all a wedding brings together two families creates a new one which is really beautiful if you think about it. It’s interesting you say food is one of the most important aspects because while I love food, it’s not really something I will remember so it’s not a huge priority to me. I would like a pretty cake because I’ll remember how it looks when I look at photographs but it doesn’t have to taste amazing. Just one of my homemade cakes will do. Some amazing tasting food would be nice but it would probably take a lot of effort to find some food I do like that much and I just don’t think it’s worth effort for something I won’t really remember. For me it just has to be food I enjoy that doesn’t ruin the day. I feel like how everything looks is more important because that’s what I will remember more since I can take photos of it.
