As Luther said, "one cannot go against conscience." The film was well made and crazy thought provoking. Maybe it will make Christians everywhere consider their cross in a new way.

Are you or anyone else going to resume videos on the Bruderhof? Just asking as I enjoyed them, many others did as well. Maybe ran out of content? Or was it too taxing on you?

It crossed me mind, why not make a Christmas room, where a tree is planted??? Or a green house south westerly green house designed to aid warming one’s building (passive solar heating) that can house a Christmas tree? Just asking. Where next year it’d be there, same for 50 years from now, 100 years from now where there’ll be memories left with it. It’s y’all’s business, but a pet tree for Christmas😊

I’ve been Christian my whole life. But for the life of me I don’t know why the whole body of Christ ignores Jeremiah chapter 10. God himself came against the Christmas tree calling it the way of the heathens. I’m no heathen…so I don’t touch the tree. Which was rooted in Baal worship.

This is amazing. Thats the first time I heard a devotion on the Stations of the Cross, totally mindblown, never felt the suffering of Jesus this real. Still hesitant about which christian denomination I should join, but I think I'll start to do this devotion anyway. Thank you very much!

I did not eat meat for a time. I'm poor. I get meat from the food bank. I know Jesus ate meat. It's nit a sin to eat meat. Dome ppl don't want to. They find it revolting. Ie the ways animals are treated n killed. At least fight to make the food industry more humane. If u can not eat meat-great. Animals were only eaten after the Fall-when the life earth was destroyed by the flood. Pre fall humand didn't eat meat, just plants. The animals, the plants, all were coruppted. ❤

Thanks for addressing this, Laura! Love you! 🥰 I am a Christian and a vegan. I don’t judge anybody else for eating meat or dairy (and I GET you about DAIRY! Vegan cheese, ice cream and butter is NOT THE SAME! 😭) I started for my health (cholesterol and cancer prevention) and have continued for 3 yrs. now. My conviction for the ethical part has grown as I learn more and more about our food systems in this country and many other countries, and as I think about the care of animals and the health of the planet. There are SO MANY humans on the earth now, and the scale of meat, dairy, eggs and fish we demand makes the raising and treating of these animals inhumane and harmful to the environment. I don’t think it’s 100% wrong to consume animal products. I DO wish EVERYBODY would strive to consume LESS of them, and instead pay more for ethically raised and treated animals and wild-caught fish. We would ALL benefit from more vegetables and legumes. The planet will be better off if we reduce our demand for meat. I know that Jesus did eat fish and probably Passover lamb at the very least. (I never COULD eat the lambies! 🐑😆) I know Jesus told Peter he could eat meat of various kinds. I understand that each culture has special foods and customs. I know some cultures subsisted completely on animals, like in the Arctic and the Sahara. I am at peace with that. If I was a missionary, I would probably eat (most) foods they eat in the culture I went to. (Lord, please don’t require me to eat octopuses, pigs or lambies! 🙏🙏🙏😄😉) Personally, I feel that since I don’t NEED animal products in the time and place I am living in, THIS IS SOMETHING I CAN DO. It’s an easy way I can deny myself a little bit to make the world a better, kinder place…I hope! I go out of my way to NOT make it awkward for friends or difficult for waitstaff when ordering out. I automatically eat much less sugar because…MILK chocolate 😢, and ice cream.. and there are NEVER vegan desserts in restaurants. Also, not eating pizza as an easy go-to has saved me a lot of extra calories and saturated fat. Cheese, butter and sweets have now been replaced with healthier foods. I avoid processed vegan substitutes for cheese and butter, unless eating out with a group and that is all that is available. (It happens!) I just hope more Americans will start denying themselves a few quickly made decisions, like meat in restaurants, especially fast food because restaurants have to buy meat from “less idealistic”/ethical sources to make a profit and stay in business. If we as a society could think about HOW VERY MANY foods and confections in grocery stores contain dairy and then think about how the newborn cows and mother cows are treated so we can by a candy bar at the checkout on a whim, that really has no nutritional benefit… and the scale these are produced on! (I know many of these things do not apply to the Bruderhof, which is something I love about your community!) I think modern society is so far removed from the raising butchering of animals that we don’t realize the waste we demand. So much is wasted through our spoiled tastes (chicken breasts only, for example), or because we decide in a “keto” diet, or because restaurants serve giant portions. I wish more people would learn what happens in factory farms, what happens to the baby animals that are not born the “useful” gender (chickens and male dairy cows, for example), and also the pollution that dairy and cattle farms create. It’s not obvious the scale this is done on, so we don’t give it a second thought. I wish we would ALL eat more vegetables, legumes and less sugar for our health. Just to be better stewards of our bodies and the earth’s resources if nothing else. I also wish there WERE a few intentional CHRISTIAN (not just generic “spiritual) eco-communities that were like the Bruderhof. (I could see myself at the Bruderhof someday too, btw!)
