Hey Laura and fam! I'm in Australia (Melbourne) it's pretty cold here now, though not as cold as it gets in some parts of the world. None the less, I'm here on my computer indoors while wearing a jacket and shivering! I am learning to crochet, so today will spend a bit of time doing that and then tending to the garden before picking up my little one from kinder.

I’m in Central New Jersey, which really isn’t too far from you. It has been unbearably hot for weeks. Maybe you being on the Hudson River is a bit cooler. This week coming up is supposed to be roasting hot. You are such a delight and I’m glad you came on and gave us an update.

Hi Laura, the boys are growing so big, now! Here in the UK the weather has been cold and very wet. When it doesn't rain it feels like a privilege! It was like that on Saturday so I rode 40 miles on my pushbike, grabbing the opportunity while I can!

Glad to see another clip on your life. The boys are getting so big! As for me, on a warm Saturday afternoon, I was packing to move from Yerevan, Armenia to Almaty, Kazakhstan! one week left before the move. 3 days until moving company comes

Could you say anything about the Bruderhoff in NC! I’ve sent you guys emails, but I never heard back, which there might be a middleman which could interfere, but it’d be good to know about other Bruderhoff communities too! Evidently they haven’t jumped on informing the world!

With community, over time, surely you have identified traits of people “not raised” in community that when introduced to community came in hesistantly, then fell inline, some it was made for them! Going back 30 years ago, I interacted via mail with Bruderhoff, where I liked what I saw! But things happened. But you guys are listed with the Fellowship for International Community or Foundation for….., that may have been I found you guys! 30 years ago, I was fit, very! Homesteading was a thing too! But between the F.F.I.C., what traits are absolutes nos where there’s exceptions to the rules as with anything, where one does make it! What type does make it? The latter is more important. Which how much an acre of land where you guys is? Rich with Deanna, Rich mentioned how he thought it’d been cool to live off the land! Which I had plans to be set up to do so while living in modern comforts, where survival/living skills (forget just surviving) would be just a hobby ! Where I would have had a homestead, studied on it many years! Being I saw your response, I thought I’d take the chance to see if you would respond to who are the types that make it in Community living and what type of person makes it at the Bruderhoff? If you have time to tell me, I’d appreciate your input. Feel free to share to others if you think others might inject something you do not, please! 🙏. Now, how much an acre of land beside you guys? 😇😇😇

Such a lovely family. My family in Oregon is staying in doors out of the 100 ⁰ weather. I am ever so grateful for central air conn. As a child and teen, the weather did not effect me overly much. But menopause just about chicken fried me. I had never been so uncomfortable. At 63, I have a very large appreciation for air conn.

Hello Laura! It is summertime here in the UK and it has been a crazy summer- thunderstorms one day, bright sun the next! My husband and I are currently moving house, so I spent my Saturday afternoon packing and seeing local friends for afternoon tea!

Hi Laura! Its Dana from San Diego. Its only about 80 degrees, but the sun is very strong when you're not in the shade. Making Miso Halibut with a wasabi mash in the air conditioning! Beautiful boys, enjoy!

Hello Laura , it's pretty cold in England for July , plenty of rain , no sunshine. It's been the worst spring and summer in my lifetime. And I've lived a long time, I'm pleased you are getting good weather and can enjoy the outdoors .

Netherlands here, hi! Weather is similar to England, and definitely odd, but I personally wouldn’t call it bad. I hate it when it’s 25+ degrees C. So I’m happy with this weather. :)

So ~~~ If one sells all their worldly goods to follow Jesus, are they in some sem0-maybe-twisted way, encouraging "sinful" behavior in those that buy everything. Do these people clean out their bank accounts and donate to the Community Pot? Not necessarily criticizing, just plainly asking. I'm seeing a blurred line between "community" and "socialism." Have there ever been "Leaders" or Financial Handlers that have misbehaved? What happens if you believe you really need something and your request is denied? Is food rationed, so to speak? Just a curious little capitalist here, from an urban area, where some people do not work by the sweat of their brow for their bread, and children are "welcomed" simply to bump up the monthly government check. Yes, I'm a bit cynical, but I see what I see... What will you do when The Massive Migration Busses stop by close to you?

Not everyone is called to go out and evangelize. Sometimes, the best "sermon" one will hear is observing the lives of others. I do not like being "gangstered" on a street corner and have a tract shoved in my face, or try to think of a semi-unhorrible way to tell the people annoying my doorbell (again) to "Get The ~~~"
