@@alyxskyler from what i know you can breathe, sleep paralysis is basically your body can't move because you woke up in middle of a REM cycle where your muscles can't move anyway, only your eyes can move

alyxskyler You can breathe but in a lot of cases when you first wake up you feel like you can’t because it’s almost like there is a huge heavy weight on your chest (for me at least, and I’ve seen a lot of other people mention this feeling as well) but you physically can breathe, your brain is partially awake but not enough to move your arms and legs, and the more anxious you get the worse it can be/longer it can last. A lot of people also experience very scary hallucinations during periods of sleep paralysis (it’s a good idea to just keep your eyes closed and do deep breathing if you ever experience it) so you’ll feel as though you’re dying before you snap out of it and your brain wakes up fully, but you aren’t actually in any legitimate danger.

With the Taylor Swift thing, it's through Ticketmaster (or some other similar website) and you don't watch it through KZbin, you watch it on the website itself. So it does actually track how many times you watch it. The thing that she (or more specifically Ticketmaster) faced criticism over was that buying the song or buying merch gave you "boosts" to get tickets, which gives priority to wealthier people

That was until ticketmaster added more videos for fans to watch to get the boosts for free. At first it was just like the lyric video and merch. But now they added the music video and behind the scenes clips for people to watch. Ticketmaster also upped the number of boosts you can get by watching the videos. Before it was a "low" boost but now it's a "medium" boost. There are plenty of fans who have priority that did not spend a single cent.

Jenna please look up the taylor thing because that's not my understanding at all! It's a ticketmaster program and she's only the first artist they're teaming with. The idea is supposed to be rewarding superfans that are buying merch and buying her albums by pushing them to the front of the online queue, thereby insuring her real fans get tickets ahead of the touts. As someone who is buying her merch etc etc I think it's a good idea. I think the option to buy her album twice is a bit fucked because why would you need to otherwise,but I like the 'watch my video' one for kids that can't afford to be buying her merch etc but really are fans. It's limited to ten and it's through a page on the site where the video is embedded in so your visit is counted, and you could prob not actually play the video tbh and still be counted once you're in there. It's not perfect but I like what they are trying to do. It got very misreported at first, I feel.

Friendly Fact Check about the Taylor Swift topic: Her website is partnering with Ticketmaster (I don't know the technical internet terms, sorry) to help battle scalpers. (She's not the first artist to do this btw. Harry Styles, Hamilton, and a few other artists that I don't know off the top of my head have participated for tour tickets) She wants her fans to be able to have access before the scalpers do. So, through a webpage that connects her website and your Ticketmaster account she can track: Album sales (promo codes entered after you preorder her album- only counted for the first 13 albums you order), Merchandise sales via her website linked, Promoting through posts on social media you've linked to the account, and watching all the youtube videos surrounding her album release that are linked on said website (you can only watch the videos up to 10 times a day-I don't know how the technology works, but my views are counted after I watch the videos, so they figured out some way to measure it?- you don't watch it directly on youtube; you have to be signed into your Ticketmaster account for it to count) you get daily "boosts" that help you reach the front of the line for tickets A.K.A. "Priority". I'm pretty sure it's legal and freakin' genius of Taylor Swift. She's breaking records and helping her fans get better tickets. The different activities give different levels of boost. For example, preordering her album is a "high boost", while watching her videos is a "medium boost," and social media promotion is a "low boost." The videos used to be a low boost, but Taylor heard a lot of fans complaining on tumblr about how it isn't fair that fans with more money to buy albums and merch had a better advantage, so she told her team to change them to medium boost, which I think says a lot about her intentions. Don't feel bad for this 26 year old who keeps watching the videos. I'm 4% away from the front of the line and trying to keep up with all the youths in front of me lol. I appreciated how concerned you were that it wasn't fair, but I think she's found a pretty fair way to do it. Love y'all's podcast and silliness! Keep up the awesome hard work! The nice thing about the Taylor thing is that through the website that you get the tickets from (Ticketmaster partnered with her) it tracks the views that you give when you go through that site. hey on the taylor swift thing. I did it and I remember you had to view the music video through a certain link on the ticketmaster platform for it to count through your chance to get better tickets. resale was done in chunks and based on the your points compared to people registered for the same show as you are. so you're in competition against the people going to the same show as you on how early you get to pick. I was in a pretty early bracket and got some pretty great seats. I think it's still ethically weird view count on the video wise. But we didn't get scammed on ticket line placement. you also could buy merchandise and watch these other videos she did for points. I think at some point I remember you could only do each activity for points a certain time a day. I was in the hospital at the time (maybe at that point I was in home patient care with my Pics line) and I remember it gave me something to do and I liked that I actually got to beat the bots and resellers to a ticket.

This video is ancient but I feel the need to say that Taylor Swift's ticket presale thing was from Ticketmaster, and they did a contest for early ticket access that involves watching the music video. It counted if your account clicked the link to the video, it wasn't a scam/lie about verifying if you watched it. A lot of artists "ultimate fan presales" do similar things through Ticketmaster, its how I won tickets to see one direction in 2015. It's about clicking the link, not lying about knowing you watched the video.

I realize this is from so long ago but I’m catching up and wanted to comment about the Taylor Swift thing as someone who actually participated. Basically you sign up for a fan account and go to this page where you have different activities that can increase the points you have, and at the end of the period the points you had put you in a group of people that got earlier access to tickets than the general public. It actually worked, I didn’t do a ton besides buy a physical copy of the album and watch the video a couple times, but I got access like a day or two prior and I was able to get good seats. They tracked the view per person by requiring you watch it through the site set up for the system, basically
