Maria Petra Brandal Lonely (Blind audition) The Voice Norway S06

My cousin Maria Petra Brandal performed her song "Lonely" on The Voice Norway last night. She created a heartfelt musical moment and impressed the judges with her song, which is produced by the talented Oscar Almquist and mastred by Kristian Dørum. I expect to hear more great songs from her in the future. Still remember when we were young and sang The little mermaid together in my tiny studio haha :) Can´t wait to see what the future holds for you Maria, wish you all the best!

This is a special song. Not many come from out of nowhere and actually touch your heart by hitting that exact spot where it causes a reaction within you. I took me back to a point in my life where I longed for my real mum to just want me. I never knew her but I remember wondering why she chose not to want me. Not many songwriters have that gift of talent to touch people in such a special way. She was amazing! ❤️ songs like this are what help us put words to our emotions and somehow they help us deal with things we otherwise may not.

A collection of auditions from The Voice came up on my feed and it included this one from Maria. It totally floored me, literally bought me to tears. I ended up watching it over and over again and then was Googling around trying to work out whose song she covered. Finding out that it was her own song elevated my admiration for her even more. I know this was a few years ago now, I hope everything is working out for her.

Maria: 20 Espen: I didn't recognize this song Maria: No it's because it's my own written song Espen: Maria what just happen now while you were singing, the world stopped for a moment. While you sang there was only you and me here, you were singing directly to my heart there was a connection between our nerve systems. And the amazing thing about this is that I can guarantee that all the other 3 judges and the audience felt the exact same way. Maria: Thank you thank you so much! i just found out that when they said her song they really meant it was her song. When i saw her audition the first time which seems like ages ago, and saw how quickly the judges turned i remember thinking "yeah I should hope they turn around, she sounds just as good as the original version" now i know why, she is the original version. like i said i just found out but i have l have been watching her audition video for ever because i love the song, lyrically it is one of the most perfect songs i've ever heard, it's the kind of song that professional song writers and singers spend their whole lives trying to create and most never are able to, you cousins song definitely belongs up there in that special place reserved for people like Adele and Billie Eilish and now Maria Petra Brandal .....
