"Not a crown" for me :( I think it's a really cool watch but I have a no-date Sub and I feel no urge to get one.
@denniskwok76134 жыл бұрын
With regards to the case size, the watch is MEANT to wear smaller and it's not even really that small anyway, being 39mm in diameter and over 47mm lug to lug. I love the fact that my '58 has no date. It just makes the dial so much cleaner, it's more faithful to the original watch and if I need the date, I have my phone. My own personal issue with the watch, is the bracelet and clasp. Firstly, the clasp is a little long for small wrists and the link which attaches to the 6 o'clock side, doesn't fully articulate, which is really annoying. Secondly, the lack of a quick adjust feature is also irritating and you can't get half links! Despite this, I still love it. A lot!

When a watch have a date window, reviewers say “we don’t need a date window for a cleaner dial”... When a watch is no date, reviewers say “a date would be useful” -__-
@john-carlosynostroza4 жыл бұрын
Totally. Give me the date all day. If I'm going to sacrifice all the features that a $10 digital watch can do for a fancy look at me watch I at least want to be able to look at the date! All these people talking about Aesthetics of the dial and stuff. Get over it. Watch hobbyist are such a funny group, I'm one of them. We talked about all these features and about the movement and all this but people could transplant a $50 Chinese movement into the Rolex of 99% of Rolex owners and they would have no idea. Everybody talks about dive watch this dive watch that. Modern divers don't use dive watches so who cares about the depth and all these other features like helium Escape valve. My opinion, I watch better have a heck of a lot of charm in order to justify $5,000 or whatever. Just a name brand won't do it for me. So, the more obscure, the more odd, the more interesting the better in the luxury watch world, I think. I do like this Tudor BB 58.

@@john-carlosynostroza It's all preference for me. If it has the date, that's great, but the trade off is the design doesn't look as good as a no date. It's more practical, but really, how practical is a luxury watch anyways?

Most things mentioned in this video are actually a "+" for me, particularly the "no date" bit. I wear my divers only on week-ends or evenings, so I don't need the date complication and love the symetry without it. About the bracelet clasp, it has micro-adjustments like most diver bracelets I think? Those are used precisely for the issue you mention of expanding wrists. It's either that or a gliding clasp, which is easier to micro-size, but much chunkier. I personally like my clasps to be as small as possible (but with 3-4 micro-adjusts) so that it sits more comfortably on tables etc when I'm sitting down

"good first watches to buy / finding your style" "what your watch says about you" Personality wise "what is a field watch, chronograph, diver etc. " "in house vs 3rd party mechanical movements" what's better? what's more sought after? what holds value? what's more reliable? "History of different major / reliable brands" .. what are reputable brands? hearing the same names and growing an understanding but there's so many. hard to tell when you first hear something new really enjoy your videos, thanks again.

I bought it last year. Great watch. Loved it. Gave it to my younger brother as a gift because it doesn't get the wrist time over my SUB or DateJust. The rose gold is a great balance on the dial, hands and indices. The off white color balances well the gold and black dial. The dial is quality constructed and the crown is beautiful with the engraved Tudor rose on the cap of the stem. The added security on the clasp deployment is actually superior to the oyster bracelet. I find very little wrong with the watch as a whole. No cyclops date, but the original 58 didn't have one either. Not a big deal in my book. I got it in Dubai while I was in the Rolex shop, funny enough, servicing my SUB. I wore it for 6 months. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who noticed it. @@powerplay.556 I agree that the Polaris hasn't been the most successful, but we're talking about power reserve here, no? 38 hour power reserve is enough for you to wear another watch for a day, and come back to it, and if the power reserve runs out, the lack of complications on the watch means it's easy to set. The only reason why 38 hour power reserve is a "problem" is because watches commonly have more nowadays. Watch and things that’s would be very intriguing. I like Damasko and Junghans, I also own a Rolex and an Omega. Very different all around but the design may be seen different based on nationality curiously.

I have the 58 with the red bezel. While I don't dive, I do salt water fly fish. I love the weight on my off hand. Thus far have not had concerns with the bezel construction and it has numerous hours at work wading in salt water. Your commentary on the quick adjust is on point. My hands are in and out of water, the change in fit can be noticeable at times.

Almost no such thing as a watch that is too small. Only men who lack the confidence to own the look.

fyhfb ass i think there can be a watch too small. For me around 34 mill is where i draw the line. Though anything over 40 is a bit iffy for me.

Men who lack the confidence? It has nothing to do with confidence. It's all about aesthetics. It just looks awful. You assume that men wearing small watches would think it's feminine and therefore attack their masculinity. That's where you are wrong. It has nothing to do with that. If you have smaller wrists you can wear smaller watches you got bigger wrists you can wear bigger watches. It's all about the proportions. Stop being toxic dude!

Everyone says 36mm is 'too small for my wrist' until it's a Rolex.

Another Tudor-bashing video. For the price point, the BB58 is unmatched, with the Rolex name behind it.

Great video on the 58! How about a video to fill up the watch roll? 3 watches to travel with or to start a collection? Maybe a sport watch, dress watch, and everyday watch.

I fully agree with you regarding the date. When wearing the only watch in my collection that doesn't have a date complication, I always miss it.

wait till you have a couple more watches, then you will hate to have it.But if you're gonna stick with 1 watch only, I hear ya.

I respect that you actually stated the fact that BB41 would not fit a wrist smaller than 17,5cm. I hate how often Watchbox Review says "I'd recommend this Planet Ocean 43,5mm to a wrist as small as 14cm", like c'mon really??

What an informative video! Not only did you tell us what we already knew (dimensions and such), but you also gave your own interesting opinions. Loved the video and looking forward to more!

Hi Jenni, Hello from Sydney. Excellent review and loved the detailed & unbiased explanation. Even though your german, and already working with your partner, am glad you started this english channel. I have been to watches since ages and been following some big scale channels but this is the first time somebody reviewed it inside out! The points system, the written explanation is a great idea and gives insight to someone who is looking to spend his/her hard owned $ on a luxury timepiece. The best thing i loved about your video is that your way of communication is more soothing and is more on connecting with the audience personally instead of just talking purely about watches. And to answer your question, to me all 5 points must tick before i get my money on any watch. What i would like to see - get on with the entry and mid level watch brands as well. for e.g. a seiko prospex, hamiltons, stowa, laco, damasko.... apart from swiss, german watch making has its own history specifically with WWI&II. Many of english collectors are not aware of it. i wish to get some light on the same.... keep up the good work.. cheers!

Jenni, as your videos are reaching the USA, we have a measurement system that uses both metric and I guess we would call regular measurements. Using metric for the measurements of the watch is fine but when you call out the wrist measurements it should be in inches, we never use millimeters. You are very well versed on watches, and you are enjoyable to listen to. Keep up the great work.

Really interesting video, thanks for your perspective. As a watch guy, one of the most useful and practical spots I like to see are comparisons between similar models. Not everyone can all afford the high-end pieces, so some alternatives are always appreciated. Perhaps one high-end, one mid-range and one micro?

I'm going with the 58 fabric strap, because I like fabric, but will probably swap it out for a NATO. I love the enthusiasm you show in your videos, very infectious. Happy New Year.

Great video! I love having a date as it's so useful, but I love the symmetry of a watch without a date! Agh! Worst part of this, of course, is how ridiculously expensive black bay 58 is. I'm sure not to some, but definitely to the rest of us, mere mortals.
