This movie is timeless. I fell in love with it when I was no more than 10 years old. I'm 32 now and still love it. I giggle at some of the cheesiness of it now, being a bit more cynical, but it still gives me the same thrill. Still makes me wish I could dance like that.

The truth is easier to remember than a lie. I really didn't understand at that time what my mother said to me. "Dirty Dancing" might not be the greatest movie ever made, but it has left an indelible mark on millions of those who saw it. I think this is particularly true for Boomers. Most of us turned forty the year the movie was released, and the nostalgia hit hard for a generation seeing its youth in the rearview mirror. The scene that will always stay with me is the way Baby's father hugged her so intensely and emotionally after her big dance moment. It's the same way my father hugged me the first time I came home from college.

Jennifer Grey didn't need to have an operation on her nose. She was an incredibly beautiful woman (and still is). I'm a normal, 36-year old guy who's not into "chick flicks," but for me Dirty Dancing is another golden movie that came out during the 80's. She crosses that fine line of being both beautiful and hot at the same time. Might sound odd, but usually it's one or the other. She did both. It makes you wish you could transport yourself to that camp back in the 60's and dance with her. Every dude wishes he could be Patrick Swayze in that movie, and not because he got all the attention from the ladies, but because he got to be with Jennifer Grey.

Still one of the greatest movies with some of the greatest stars, script, soundtrack. Everything about this film was great.
