NO. Some one just sent this to me. I did not know she had a version! The only reason I can answer your question is because I was the drummer on both "Dreamgirls" AND "Smokey Joe's Cafe".

The role was for Ms. Holliday because this was sung in the second, non-consecutive episode appearance of the character. In the first episode, their choir was sued for "belittling" people with dwarfism. She was the choirmaster. In the second episode, her character's story was a bit like Effie in Dreamgirls -- a volatile, in-your-face choirmaster and the guy she was dating broke up with her in favor of a younger female member with a smaller dress size. Her character went to the extent of suing her ex for broken promises thus necessitating the encounter with Ally McBeal's firm again. This song was her anthem by the end of the episode.
