LOVE this breakdown as always!! Jennifer Lawrence has truly honed her own personal style so much especially over the last couple years. Even though we can feel how authentic some of these outfits are, I love that you shined a major light on her stylist as I can’t even imagine the amount of prep and work that goes into curating a celebrity closet (constantly) 😍 I know it’s always a collaboration between stylist and client but not everyone gives that credit. This partnership is truly so special and JLaw really seems comfortable in her own skin but still always ready to give a moment 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Mary, your analysis of Jennifer Lawrence's style evolution is insightful and engaging. It's fascinating how you dissected her minimalist fashion choices, highlighting the importance of a stylist's role in curating these looks. Your perspective on how celebrity fashion is a team effort brings a refreshing honesty to the discussion. I particularly enjoyed how you connected Jennifer's style to broader fashion trends like the '90s influence. Keep up the great work in bridging the gap between celebrity fashion and everyday style inspiration!

Mary I cannot estimate how long it must take you to gather all the detail for these reviews for us. I love how JL certainly seems to have found her look with the help of her stylist etc. I do think though that some of her day to day Row outfits do look a little contrived, like the clothes are wearing her and she’s not wearing the clothes (if you know what I mean). Her wardrobe choices are amazing though. Have a fab day 🥰

You’ve outdone yourself again Mary! I love when you breakdown celebrity styles. I gotta say that i missed your uploads this past week! Can you maybe do one for Kaia Gerber? Her transition from this skater girl aesthetic when she first started modeling. To becoming very polished and minimal with Her Celine contract, wearing The Row and Alaia?

Yes! I definitely have a video coming up on Kaia! Adore her style. Thank you for watching Isaac🙌

Hi Mary! Thanks for this video, such a great analysis as always. I just want to give a disclaimer that the 3rd outfit you talked about where she's wearing a "casual" head to toe The Row look is actually not a real JLaw everyday casual look. She was shooting an ad here for the brand Longines. :)

She has been looking amazing and her hair is my inspiration for growing mine out. I wonder if you like Sofia Coppola's style? I feel like she is the version of 'old money' / 'quiet luxury' from like 10-20 years ago.

Ohh yess fully agree! Love Sofia Coppola's style and that is such a great suggestion❤ Thank you for watching🙌

You can tell she was inspired by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. It’s very obvious and I love it lol

J Law is my top fashion influencer these days. And like you mention, you can recreate these looks with cheaper brands or vintage finds. Because her selections are very classic. So she is a useful influencer lol. She’s peaked (that golden globes gold look was FLAWLESS omg) but I’ve noticed her evolution start around the time she started dating her husband and all those pap photos of them walking around NYC. I would boil her down to a sophisticated dresser. Her proportions are right, so she looks finished. She’s casual, but in a retro way in that she wears tailored pants, classic flats, heels, boots (never too trendy), and small designer bag. She’s also tall, so she’s a great model for The Row, whose tailoring does a lot of the heavy lifting too.

Ohh interesting point about when she started on this style trajectory. She definitely has a sophisticated sense of style with the right proportions❤ Thank you so much for watching Kirsten🙌

The photos of her walking the dogs is for a watch jewelry ad set in NYC. Her outfit, hair and makeup was professionally done - this is not an off duty look of JLaw

I love the Row red long coat on her however the sleeves are way too long and it looks sloppy. If it were tailored for her beautiful body it would look so much better.

Love all her looks and yes, grandma here, I have a mid thigh black leather jacket I will be breaking out. Just need to deal with the worn look in a few areas. Or is that an acceptable “look”?
@radicalaccounting7 ай бұрын
it's kind of how you pair it, with what, mostly the whole look. Pull it out, someday you will find the right jeans/pants, shows, top it works with. I have these 2 long necklaces I bought ages ago, never worn but love. I finally figured out how to style them with this new open weave tunic top I bought. It made the look. Just keep trying the cost with different pieces, one day you'll get it. Maybe you don't have the exact right jeans but you'll get them and then bam! it all works. The worn areas are part of the charm, just probably not with cut up jeans too. My personal rule is only one distressed area per outfit / or room. Not mary.

Of course it is! I think worn in looking leather jackets are very on trend, but having the a jacket that you've had in your closet for years feels more authentic, surpassing the trends. Thank you for watching Lynn❤

I would love to obtain some vintage pieces. I am just hesitant to visit some of these online sites. I am in the US. Any suggestions for honest, reputable sites? Or just buyer beware!!!

the real real
@MarysRoom7 ай бұрын
In the US you have so many options. I like Fashionphile for bags. The realreal has been hit and miss for me. I'm reluctant because bc I have to pay customs and I wouldn't want to return an item. I prefer local consignment stores over online shopping because I can see the items in real time. Thank you so much for watching

that stealth wealth/the row look makes her look old.

and poor! which is the whole point, right? millionaire in rags. there's nothing wrong with looking old, though.

Sorry what?? I love your channel, but it's 2024, what's with the real animal fur? I'm really surprised such a high profile millennial actress would wear what looks like a dead fox on her shoulders. Didn't we all see the horrific fur farm videos like 10 years ago? Why is this still going on? Even the late Queen Elizabeth said enough with the fur. Jlaw taking her 90's CBK cosplay too far.
@piercenigel46708 ай бұрын
that shapeless coat covering her hands might look really tacky in 10 years. clothing is about the human body. that's why everytime we deviate too much from it - say, shoulder pads - we look back in a decade and really cringe.
@piercenigel46708 ай бұрын
it might look modern/left-field forever though, like a yamamoto or something

Meh...Looks forced. Not effortless.

Sadly, I think that she is a penultimate example of being ‘styled’ + ‘dressed’. It doesn’t feel like she’s stepped into her authentic style yet. The dog walking photo…umm. Where are her old jumpers or op shop trench? Is she really tying her jumper like that? All her outfits look, pre packed, vacuum sealed, labelled with instructions and ready for her to select from her wardrobe- Outfit 1: Dior show, wear every piece in the pack no exceptions - brand promo. Outfit 2: Walk dogs, tie the jumper diagonally across your chest, to simultaneously look ‘effortless and edgy’ Outfit 3: Gallery opening, wear quirky necklace included, I know you hate it but pls wear anyway, it’s fashion darling. 🤣🤣

@@demi-pointenoirI agree, looks seem unnatural.

I’m going to go against the grain and say I’m not a fan. Good for her if she’s happy but I think her hair is too long and her clothes look too big. I liked her street style pre marriage. She suited Dior dresses so well.
