Myles said in an interview that he never wanted to be the frontman of a band, let alone to sing. He started out as a guitar player, he even taught guitar, and only began singing out of necessity. Back when he gave that interview he also said that he still felt "naked" everytime he was up there on stage without his guitar. Imagine the loss it would've been to Rock music if he had just kept playing guitar and never decided to start singing. 🙂

I’ve seen many people react to this, and I think your reaction may be my favourite. Alter Bridge are my favourite band, I’ve followed them for 20 years and was fortunate enough to in the audience for this performance. They really are a special band and Myles is truly one of best vocalists around. To see more of how good he is I highly recommend a song from his previous band The Mayfield Four, called Summergirl. The vocal in that is mesmerising, and even more impressive as it’s the original demo vocal.

Tremonti, Marshall and Phillips were founding members of Creed back in the 90's. When they disbanded in 2004 the three of them joined up with Myles to form Alter Bridge. Every few years they get together with Stapp and do a Creed reunion

The Myles Kennedy rabbit hole runs very deep, if you want to explore some of Myles' early work I'd suggest "All the same" by Citizen swing, or "Summer girl", "Don't walk away", "12/31", or his cover of Marvin Gaye's "Inner city blues", All of these are from his time with Mayfield Four, All of them are stunning.

Please continue down this rabbit hole, Alter Bridge is a fantastic band. I knew you were hooked as soon as I saw your expression change when Myles started singing. Myles Kennedy may be the best singer in rock (the only people I can think of that can challenge him are Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Brent Smith of Shinedown), a damn fine guitarist, and a great dude. Mark Tremonti is among the best guitarists on the planet, a prolific and amazing songwriter, a pretty damn good singer himself, and also a great dude. My strong recommendation for a next song by Alter Bridge is a live performance of "Blackbird" as it's one of the most emotional and beautiful songs about loss ever recorded. Any live performance except the live at Wembley performance since Myles was sick for that one.

Glad you enjoyed this. His voice can really ring out like a bell. After Creed broke up, the guys got Myles to sing and became Alter Bridge, a bit of an outlet for their heavier stuff. Many years back a buddy of mine took guitar lessons from Myles, said he was a great guy.

Mark Tremonti has released several albums under Tremonti, is the guitarist in Creed, and more recently has released some Frank Sinatra style covers & songs and a Christmas album. Then there is Myles...he sings on Slash's albums, also has 3 solo albums, and he was in a band called Mayfield 4 before Alter Bridge - he is absolutely phenominal! Together Mark & Myles are amazing! Blackbird and Cry to Achillies from this same live performance are absolute must listen to songs. If you liked this, your gonna love those 2!

The orchestra was just in this concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Parralax Orchestra. They are a guitar based band - electric and acoustic…. …only very rarely, maybe a synthesizer… Vocally, yes! They are second to none with Myles vocal range and control. Mark sings a handful of songs , but mostly his voice is a perfect baritone counterpart harmony to Myles’ tenor.

Myles is famously considered one of the best rock singers of our time, but the guitarist Mark Tremonti is also famously one of the best guitarists of our time :) He has his own brand of PRS guitars! Blackbird is the one, and the live in Amsterdam performance is the best for vocals (it's a slightly higher energy performance from the band, which some people like a bit less, but Myles' voice is the best it's been in the Amsterdam video IMO.) I was lucky to see Myles Kennedy last week on his UK tour, and he really does make it look effortless. Shifting gears through octaves without belting... blew my mind.

Watching your reaction to your 1st hearing is about what my reaction was. You have just started your dive into the Alter Bridge, Tremonti, and Myles Kennedy rabbit hole. There is a lot of music to check out for you. You just found one of the best American bands that are just not as popular as they should be. They were originally Creed. Then they kicked out the singer, then reformed with Myles Kennedy as Alter Bridge. And the rest is history. 7 studio albums, 5 for Tremonti, soon to be 6 on January 10th. 20 yrs in the business not including Creed. Hope to see you do some more Alter Bridge and try Tremonti.

Hello! I love your VoicePlay reactions, and I wanted to suggest some stuff for yall to react to. There is a show called RWBY (pronounced ruby) that has some insane songs in it. I would love to see yall react to the Volume 1 OST, of which I have a playlist on my channel, as well as the other volume OST's. That’s not correct. He uses them and actually has commented in the past that they are essential because he suffers from Tinnitus and with in ears he managed to stop it from getting worse. Also I saw him live last month and he even joked that he cannot hear well what the audience shouts because of the in ears.
