My heartfelt thanks to you, Jennifer, for making me try hot foiling again. I bought my machine when they first became popular, with the intention of using it to make the majority of my Christmas cards that year. I got the machine company's foils in as many colours as I saw and proceeded to do the foiling.....what a disappointment and I was frantic to find out what 'I must be doing wrong' by contacting the company to get their help. Their answer was that they didn't get the incomplete and partial foiling I was getting so they couldn't help with whatever my problem was, and that was that! I ended up putting that machine and foils away, although I continued to by their new coloured foils when I saw them, as they were so pretty, and added them to my box. After watching you foiling without the errors, I was thinking it definitely 'must be me' and didn't try again then as I didn't know what I could do differently from what you were doing. I happened to be scrolling through some tutorials at random, when I saw a lady who was previewing different foils, so I watched her. It was here that I discovered 'foils aren't the same quality' and don't work the same. She basically 'called out' some brands as being useless and not worth buying. What a revelation to me! I tried my foils, with the same result, then tried the glimmer foils, yes, I had started acquiring them, thanks to your success with them, although I hadn't thought to give them a go before, and they worked!!!! I guess I shouldn't say the many rolls of foil I bought were a total waste of money as I gave them to a friend who is trying to find a way to make them work, but the process was pretty soul destroying for me while I couldn't make them work. I can now hot foil with ease and do so when I can and enjoy the results. Thank you for this and the many other tips and hacks you have shown us, you are very generous and so talented

Foiling is another pretty good chunk of money. Seeing more ideas on how we can use it in different ways is very useful for many of us. I do not think you should feel sorry for making as many foil videos as you can. KZbin is for variety. If someone doesn’t want to see another foil video, they can move on and chose not to watch. But we can not make a foil video out of no where. There is always new products out there, we are all adults. We know videos are for learning and seeing new ideas. No one needs to buy everything they see in any video. I am constantly reminding myself, hey, I actually have a set similar to that one I could try right now. Even better, is making yourself a challenge while watching new videos, a challenge to go find a similar stamp set that would work to make similar design/technique that I have just seen in the video. Either way, your videos give us all so much inspiration, please do not feel bad for all that you do, no matter how long any video is. It is us who should be always thanking you for your time and high quality creative work you share with us.

Hello from sunny AZ. These techniques are invaluable! I’m new to the Spellbinders Glimmer hot foil machine so this was a step by step tutorial for me….much appreciated! I also joined the Spellbinders die of the month club. I love to embroider so why not transfer that skill to my card making? Thank you for all your videos….you are a number of steps above the rest when it comes to technique! 😎

I like how you used the frame to center your foil plates and how you use your leftover foil pieces. I agree about using the tape. I'm always accidentally shifting my dies, paper, and/or foil. I love the hex floral card! You're always inspiring.

I find that foiling is the gift that keeps on giving :) It's a higher price point to get started what with the machine and all, but once you've made the investment the payoff is enormous with all of these options. Bonus is that the more that people do it, the more products companies will design for us!

Sometimes when I see foiling technique videos, I’m tempted to skip; but I watch and always learn something. I think about other techniques to substitute for foiling, i.e. heat embossing, inking or stenciling. It’s not that difficult to get the same look (albeit minus that gorgeous shine!). I want to get in the foiling game but for now I have too many other products that wait in the wings. Thank you for the inspiration!
