In the early sixties my father bought one almost exactly like that except it was a 1929 with what he called a duel transmission. Man, put that thing in low low and it would PULL. He would use it to pull out tree stumps! That's what I learned to drive on when I was about twelve years old. Them certainly were the days!!! This really brought back memories. 😊

I think this is brilliant getting all those old vehicles to run again. It goes to show how good and reliable the early internal combustion engines were, not like the nightmare modern engines today. We done up a 1977 Zetor tractor here in Ireland a couple of years ago and we appreciate the amount that goes into getting a vehicle running again.

A proof that old vehicles when taken care of......will last you a LIFETIME...... That thing needs a complete rebuild but the engine is still running. It still RUNS. quite well for how long its sat. The old motors won't go as far as newer motors do nowadays but they generally can fire up and run after sitting in the woods for 70 years 😂

@@HippoTheBaws Ah, a common misconseption. Older motors are just as durable as today's engines and more so in many ways due to simplicity. Newer engines benefit from transmission technology that lets them travel over 55 mph at under 2K RPMs where older cars (if they could do 55mph) would be at 3K+ RPM so newer engines just don't have to work as hard.

We have more precision now overall or cheaper precision but we make more mistakes, were more careless and not nearly as smart but we think were all genius now bc our phone or the tv tells us we are if we follow a narrative! 🤣 With the exception gdi a few more turbos your vehicle is virtually the same vehicle and same technology you would purchase 25 years ago but probably not as good. Excluding your entertaiment system naturally.

They will start even easier. Chips are extremely tough. Here's the thing he bypassed many things that could go wrong heck he sprayed fluid directly in the carb. Modern cars have aluminum blocks and many other non rusting corroding materials so they will be in way better shape in 72 years. You could spray fuel in intake of a new car and turn crank manually too.

Also model t still needs wires for spark plugs so no difference there plus new wiring harnesses are very tough and can work even without some wires.

Think about it these old cars will still run in the event of EMP's or other things electrical that would completely wreck today's modern cars so yeah the less electronics in vehicles the better hell my 73 bug runs way better than my 01 van packed full of sensors and computers so think about it today's modern cars are made to break where the old cars were made to last cause of the computers in today's vehicles they are way more succeptable to say a transformer blew on your block and created a localized electric magnetic pulse that fried your cars computers and your neighbor has an old let's say a doodle bug in this case and it turned out just fine maybe just a battery to replace and it was back on the road in minutes where your fancy modern car had to be scrapped because it needed every electronic component replaced so no today's or even tomorrow's cars don't have a chance in hell seventy years later worth of sitting just saying

My granddad pieced three tractors together from car part, sort of a mix & match in 1942. Sold the first two He kept the last one. Had an Oakland frame Model TT rear end, Model AA motor & trans, and ultimately a huge Twin Cites tractor radiator to help with overheating issues. He ran it for about 40 years. I used to drive it when helping out around his little spread. The Model TT brakes were shot and were simply disconnected so you didn’t want to let it get up a head of speed, which it easily would. He even rigged up his own 3-point, power takeoff and sickle bar mower. Great video! Stirs up memories.

Doodle Bug and Trucktor are my new favorite terms...Back when I owned a commercial cleaning company and I was working on vinyl tile floors a doodle bug was an abrasive pad that we used to remove the wax on the floor from the edges.
