I love watching these. Question - how in the world did you have time to make all this so natural! Thank you so much for sharing with us your talent.

They were all good tips, thank you. Apple Motion is such a complex program, just when I learned something new, something else pops up that I have to remember. For me the "soft Gradient tip" was the stand out, I never knew that, that's again.

Great tutorial. Happy to learn an easy way to replace a picture by just dropping it on the existing one. I would like to share something else. I did your tutorial on how to create a 3D logo. Everything went as planned however after applying replicator the time line froze even though it was only emitting 5 points. I never had a problem with even 60 or more points. I reduced the size of the source image but to no reveal. After many trials and errors I found out that applying the drop shadow on the source image caused the problem. I have a mac mini M1 16/512. The work around is to simply apply a drop shadow in the vector program you are using. An inner shadow works great. If you keep your vector program open you can easily adjust the effect and just save it and watch the results simultaneously in motion if you don't have enough power to process.

Excellent shares!!! On a separate note, music could have been softer, slightly distracting.

Hello Jen! First off great video and you are providing some amazing value on this software. As a suggestion, I think you would benefit from making an individual video for every one of these hacks. Since people that are trying to figure these answers will be typing the exact question in (for example. “How to import psd file layers into motion”) they will be more likely to find their answer and you are more likely to me found!! Again, great work and thank you for continually adding to the Apple motion community

Wonderful. I need to check to see if it will allow importing Corel vector files. That could save me a huge amount of time redesigning logos to animate in Motion.

Fantastic content! Just what I've been looking for. Isolating the keyframe range without having to hunt for it will save me hours. The only things I miss from Ae are precomps and null objects. Do you have any tips on approximating those in Motion? Thanks, again!

Hi Jenn! I really enjoy your videos and find them to be very very helpful and fun😬 Got a question? Is it possible to just edit your videos directly in Motion as opposed to Final Cut Pro?
@JennJagerPro2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I wouldn’t recommend it. Theoretically, you could do simple video edits in Motion, however the workflow in FCP is far superior. FCP also has advanced audio editing features that Motion doesn’t. To edit in only Motion would be very limiting.

Is there a way that you can custom your own shortcuts like for example the split tool. A shortcut for that would be really useful,and also if you have a clip in 30fps is there a way that motion can make it 60like som to her programs that can add frames?

I don't understand why you call these tips "hacks." They aren't hacks. You're showing us how to the use the functionality built into Motion, the way Motion is supposed to function, so they're tips.
