Thanks heaps I'm 42 and have marfan syndrome. I used to say "I know My body" well it feels like I'm totally estranged to My body these days. After a couple of aortic dissections and aortic replacements I'm not at my best these days at all but this explains some things I've been experiencing.

When I was 38 I thought I was starting premenopause. Told my doctor and she laughed at me. Finally had a doctor do a test when I was 41 and was told I was in menopause. That's it. No information, advice, or anything. Doctors can really suck at their job.

Perimenopause nearly killed me -it's no joke.No one took me seriously when I complained that I never felt well including my gyn.I was told it was normal to bleed a lot which understand but this was way over the top and the blood loss was making me feel dead.I was able to quit my full time job at 55 and rebuild myself physically and mentally.I began to feel better about 3-4 months after my final period because my body could get a break from the blood loss.Perimenopause was hands down the worst time of my life.I feel greatnow and would tell all women there is light at the end of the tunnel.Yes you can do all the things you did as a young woman again once you heal from this time in your life.

I’m dealing with the same situation and I hear the complaints every night and she basically ticks off every symptom on the list. And she won’t even hear me out. She doesn’t do the research on the subject like I have been lately. She’s is literally a tyrant and it’s demoralizing. I’m trying to get her to TELL the DR she wants HRT. It literally says that it help’s basically every symptom she’s got. But previously the dr’s had brushed her off saying she was too young. She had a partial hysterectomy because of a cyst or fibroid. Can’t remember. No periods. I think HRT will change her(our) lives for the better obviously. At least I hope so. But her rage reprimands me for researching the subject. Cross your fingers.

I'm 46 and have been dealing with many of these symptoms for about the last five years. There are, of course, some variations but what really got my attention was the bit about blood sugar and dementia. My blood sugars have been going up and up and up to the point where I am now pre-diabetic. My cognitive function has also been in decline for several years. I have NEVER been told by a provider that these are linked. This is a wake up call for me. Another thing to mention - a lot of women (myself included) are diagnosed with ADHD when they hit perimenopause because the symptoms we have learned to mask suddenly become much worse and all the tricks we have used to cope no longer work. My ADHD diagnosis has been incredibly helpful because now I'm learning to work with my brain instead of against it.

I was a little over 7 months out from giving birth, but I know that it takes a while before your body can get its “normal” hormone levels back. I really thought it was just that. The thing is, it never stopped thinning. It’s so frail now. If I put it in a pony tail, it’s about the width of a penny. It’s bad. I’m moody, have brain fog, and generally not in a very good mental space having to deal with this. Glad to have come across your video.

I'm almost 40 and other than the 8 day early periods and less bleeding, the brain fog and rage outbursts are what I'm struggling most with. I actually have almost every symptom including urinary urgency. I've also developed osteoarthritis in my hands. It occurred to me that this has been going on for around a year but it wasn't until I put it all together that I realised it's perimenopause. My teenagers thought I had dementia and anger issues! I didn't know about most of the symptoms I'm having, we just don't talk about it enough. So I'm really glad I found this video, thanks for helping to normalise perimenopause, fear comes from the unknown.

Thank you for talking about this. Women don't talk enough about this. It's incredibly frustrating & unsettling to have all of these changes go on and not know it's potentially normal. Other fun things that happen are: 1. Joint pain. It literally happened to me overnight. I've taken blood tests to rule out autoimmune joint disease. Synovax supplement helps. 2. Night sweats - not a hot flash, just sweating. The back of my neck sweats if I don't wear my hair up. Also, bamboo sheets & clothing helps me. 3. Dry skin - like, you can't put lotion on fast enough after getting out of the shower or your skin gets super itchy. Oatmeal soap helps 4. If you have a severe coughing fit or sneeze, a little pee can come out. I guess I'll have to wear period underwear for the rest of my life, now? I hate this so much. Evidently, you have much of this shit, even after you hit menopause. 😢😢😢 All of these things, I've talked with friends & sisters and they're like, oh yeah...that happens to me, too. 😬

In a single video, you have validated every complaint I’ve mentioned to my doctor for over a year! I started to cry! Last winter I went on anti depressants for the first time in my life when and sought MH treatment when I couldn’t cope anymore. I get checkups every 6 months with bloodwork but apparently never a full work up. I’m so tired all the time but I can’t sleep at night. My hips and heels ache. My cycle has been a roller coaster but not enough to warrant anyone caring. People are bandaging the parts but I don’t feel at all whole which has led to a year of feeling like a failure! Thank you for making it make sense.

Man.. I am listening to this at work and nearly in tears! These are all the things I have been experiencing over the last couple years. I thought I seriously was going crazy, because this all started just after I separated from a 20 year marriage. I put on a ton of weight, crying, severe breast tenderness, last month I had massive swelling in my legs and had an emergency ultrasound on my legs to check for blood clots and there was nothing and my doctor just said get compression socks and elevate your feet. I cry over everything over the last couple years. I am borderline diabetic now. When I asked about hormones she kind of brushed me off and said I was too young, I am 45 and started my period early at 10. This makes me feel a sense of relief and sadness at the same time. Luckily a lady a work suggested I go to a hormone doctor, so I have an appointment next week. I realized the other day, I didn’t have a real period in April (it was just about 2 days of spotting) and no period in May.

It feels crappy and I appreciate that you not only gave the symptoms but you also provided some excellent tips for each one. I had to leave a young doctor who seemed to take what I was saying lightly and shrugging it off. She told me I couldn't be in menopause or perimenopause because I was not yet in my 50's. I’ve always been pretty emotional in a sort of inverted way but now I can’t control these crying fits and wild angry lady attacks. It’s just been getting worse yr by yr. Idk why but menopause was the last thing on my mind. I was so delusional that when a doctor(not mine) mentioned it I was like gtfoh ….. I’m not old enough for that 🤦🏾‍♀️😭😭😭 Damn that doctor because now I can’t get it outta my head! I’m pretty sure that this is what’s wrong with me! Wtf is nature so cruel to women??? Damn haven’t we had enough carrying, birthing, nursing and raising these damn kids?? Now we hv to be finished off by loosing everything that makes us FEMALE! This is some BULL ISH!! Ok sorry guys. I’m only 3 minutes into this video but I was all in these comments so please forgive my hormonal outburst! I hope she has some help cuz I’m finna end it all😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Great video! I’m 48 and have been going through perimenopause, I would say, for the last 6 years to some degree. It’s definitely ramped up in the last 1.5 years. It’s like my body is definitely showing more clear indications that things are changing} weight changes especially around the middle, mood changes, sleep changes (night sweats), periods becoming a bit shorter in duration. My mom and her mom and sister were all 47 when they ended. I’m still waiting on my turn! 😔

I have suspected I might be in peri menopause and this video confirms it for me. My period came 3 days early and suddenly I was shaky, physically weak, felt like I hadn’t eaten in days. Then I got upset at my husband for loading the dishwasher “wrong” and cried. That’s when I knew my hormones were doing something!

Yes, the suffering in silence is so real! I swear that too many doctors out there are quick to dismiss women, using the standard "It's just in your head" spiel and trying to shove dangerous anti-psychotic medications down our throats, when there is in fact a very real PHYSICAL reason we're going through hell!

I weigh 106 but I'm noticing my appetite is out of control. I eat mostly organic foods but craving carbs. I have hot flashes, night sweats, breast pain, going to the bathroom more, mood is low, muscle pain, missed periods, hair thinning, memory issues and more. I really need help sleeping that's what at least kept me focused.

This is amazing! I just turned 44 and have been dealing with this for almost 5 years or more. The first thing was the loss of libido. Then, mood swings, anxiety, and massive depression. I just had a hysterectomy a month ago, and now I'm dealing with insomnia and tons of joint pain. My doctors dissmiss my complaints, tell me I'm too young, and treat me like I'm a hypochondriac or seeking pain meds. I'm so tired. Tired of hurting, tired of being dismissed, tired of not having support at home or with my doctors. I'm tired of feeling like my body is attacking me, and I can't escape. My mental health is declining, and I can't even find a therapist who can see me this year. This is the first thing I've seen that has completely validated everything in going through. I'm not crazy! I don't know how much longer I can keep this up, though. My candle is burning on both ends and the middle. How do I find someone like you in the States? I'm in Arizona, and the health care system here is awful.

Amazing video and very thorough information! I'm 53 and post-menopausal. I've had to learn all of these things the hard way. I'm currently focusing on rest, more protein, and weight-bearing exercise. A health scare last year, coupled with (probably caused by) official menopause put me on a sugar/weight gain/adrenal fatigue path that I'm slowly pulling away from. The struggle is real, but I'm determined to get through this naturally.🤞💪

I like your comment. I am someone who loves the topic of hair. I know people are different but for me personally what has helped my hair when it comes to reduced shedding is Bamboo Tea and Bamboo supplements, it takes about 30 days to start noticing a difference it it really worked for me. Many people have also used Fenugreek topically or as a drink and that helps as well.
