mam i think maximum node should be calculated by this formula 2m-1 and m-1 is used to calculate min node.....mam i m just asking because i am also confused on them...

M is the ORDER of the tree, the maximum number of children a node can have. The node cannot contain any more keys than m-1. If you can have 3 children you can only have 2 values in the node, max. There is a range [k - 1, 2k - 1] of keys, that you might be confusing with this one. In that range t is not the order. If k = 2 you can have [1,3] keys meaning [2, 4] children. Why doesn't the node containing 2 point to the node containing 5? When you insert 7 you throw 6 up, but you also change a pointer so 5 points to 6, right? Why not maintain the pointer/edge from the node containing 2 to the node containing 5.
