All this changes in technology and aerodynamic complexity (front wing mainly) mean nothing..who will ever think that the 2014 mclaren car would be the same if not slower than a 2001 car..

The same? not even close. Even Minardi's were faster. Comparing 2001 with 2014 times, the fastest lap for example was 4,264 seconds slower. That's just ridiculous.

George Day Agreed... it is a shame people don't know what F1 is about anymore. It's never been about speed or sound alone, it is all about the technical solution to a given scenario defined by regulations, hence why it is called 'Formula Racing'. It was never about the fastest drivers but about the drivers who adapt best to changing technology, it has always been this way in F1. The drivers always get the credit and the fame but it is the engineers who make the sport, F1 would be nothing without the drive for technical advancement.

The Malaysian GP today was off the scale boring, F1 as processional as it ever was, before all these gizmos they introduced to 'spice up the show'! Drivers change gear on a beep to maximise fuel efficiency, they have to conserve tyres like never before, conserve fuel, keep within a given hourly fuel flow rate, DRS, KERS, and all the rest....and it's as dull as dishwater!!! Not to mention the less than thrilling sound of these engines....! And then double points for the last race?!?? Whatever next? Fake rain!? I'm a lifelong F1 fan. If someone who isn't an F1 fan asks me again why do I spend my time watching cars going round and round I'm going to say I have no idea any more!! I'm bored!

deggis4 I don't write this to be top comment, i really don't care of this shit. I just didn't like where F1 is going. I think all F1 fan should be preocupied by how the new rules ruined F1. DRS and Kers already replace talent to pass an opponent, and now F1 has to go slowly to save fuel, sound like dyson, and has dick on the nose.
